this chapter wasn't random, it was yuanxiaojie (lantern festival or something in English) yesterday, and in China we eat these balls made from flour with sweet flavours inside (yuanxiao). Which is why the author had like 'taro' and 'black sesame' for the little dogs in spoons, those are the flavours the characters would be if they were yuanxiao.

thats a good point, one that has been made many times. however i think you need to understand that rape is incredibly normalised in yaoi, and fujoshi couldnt identify what was happening as rape because its more portrayed more as dubcon. i don't know if you read stories with rape, but when it is included in a non-meaningful or explicit way, there will be alot of push back in the topic section. there is unfortunately alot more tolerance for rape in this genre because it has been normalised and is seen through a heteronormative lens, or just completely downplayed. thankfully, alot more people are giving authors who include rape/dubcon as nothing more than a smutty scene alot of criticism. ofc there will always be the "doN reAd iT!!1!" army but there definitely is a lower tolerance for it than say, 5/6 years ago. ofc rape and pedophilia are not more severe or extreme than the other, but this specifically is fuckin disgusting because she aged deku down and made him a child mentally. i agree, people need to give stories with non-meaningful rape the same energy they're giving this shit.
