I love this mangaka soo much! The way she creates the characters is so well rounded, very realistic, and mature. I learned a lot about relationships from her mangas.

Shizu is not wrong you know. This is good. He is giving Hiiragi a chance to rethink his feelings all over again. It is as he said and Hiiragi's response toward Shizu's suggestion proves it. Damnnnnn the one feeling the most pain here is Shizu for sure. I wanna give him a big big hug.
Shizu is kinda in the wrong though because he’s putting his expectations on Hiiragi and deciding Hiiragis feelings for him. If Hiiragi IS in love with Yuki, Shizu can’t expect him to love him like how he loved Yuki just like Mafuyu can’t love Ue like he did Yuki because they’re different people. Shizu just made Hiiragi doubt himself even though when he asked him if was in love with Yuki in Hiiragis mind the first thing he thought was “im in love with YOU.” But also its good he’s giving him time to rethink his feelings because I think it’ll give Hiiragi a chance to get his nerves in order and Shizu to check himself because he hurt Hiiragi just cus he didn’t say “of course yeah we’re gonna sleep together” that’s not what love is and Shizu is putting on HIS pain onto someone else.....
Also everything I said might be wrong because lets be honest idk what I’m talking about we’re all sad here and now have to wait another month :(
I didn't like this mangaka so much because at first the art looked sloppy for me but after reading it I got so caught up in the story and came to really like her art style and they are really soothing for me to the point it becomes some sort of obsession haha. Here I am reading all her works and try to support her works in every possible way now lol.
I remember I rated this manga 3 star the first time I read because despite all the things I liked about this manga plus my bias for this mangaka, I really hated the uke in the first 2 volumes.
However, after I experienced a rather similar situation as the uke's, I understand him a lot better now and to me this plot becomes really realistic. It's not easy to deal with a confession from your long best friend that he has been thinking about you this way for the whole time.
It is okay with hooking up with someone but to do the same thing with your best friend is very different and almost impossible if you are unsure about your feeling toward him. I was ok with hooking up with guys I met online but I would never agree to hook up with my best friend casually and even more after knowing how serious they are about me. What if the relationship you have will be destroyed after you go out with him and it doesn't go well. The struggles the uke had are real and very understandable. The more you treasure the friendship, the more your friend is important to you, the harder you can deal with this situation. The uke did well.
This kind of situation happens all the time. Your best friend is the one you feel most at ease with, have the most fun with, and never get bored staying with them. You would feel jealous and lonely when they get a partner and have less time with you. You get angry more than them when their partner doesn't treat them right. You might question yourself sometimes if you are actually in love with them but you would end up trying to not overthinking about it to maintain the relationship you have. I was like that. My best friend was like that. At some point, we got along very well and I even thought maybe we could be more than friends. But then we became too close that it became impossible to become lovers. Whatever. This is so troublesome and draining
