I just had to drop this. I feel so horrible for the purple haired guy who got rejected just like that. :(( He literally beat someone up trying to defend her. She should at least like, Acknowledge that. I know she doesn't have mutual feelings for him but rejecting him like that was so... unnecessary. Poor guy.
It's not really that she didn't acknowledge it, more of she didn't know. She asked him if he was serious and he couldn't even respond back, so it's not her fault. He wasn't even really rejected because he never really asked, when he found out himself that he was in love with her he kept silent about it
She only rejected him because she knew what he felt wasn’t romantic love but more in the sense of family. And when asked if he did love her romantically he couldn’t say it right away either. Plus, near the end of the their last time seeing each other he said, “I loved you noonim.” Which could be interpreted as him saying he loves his sister (if u look up wut noonim means. Idk, I can’t fully said that he didn’t have at least have 1percent interest in her romantically but I wanna defend her actions cause she didn’t want him to force himself to marry her when he didn’t like her in that way. Okay no hate but I don't really ship FL and ML. I just finished season one and personally, It seemed a bit rocky. At first I didn't like FL for abandoning her country then I started to like her again later on. But that isn't really the topic I wanted to discuss. So, I really feel like FL and ML just had a good friendship for season one. She performed her duties just like everyone else did. Of course, She made huge accomplishments. I just think so far they really just seemed like close friends and nothing else. So far I think the only ship worthy thing about them was the fact he gave her a position as knight and when he saw her kinda shirtless. All the other moments were really just bonding times. So I can't help but wonder if he just likes her because she's a strong female. The whole loyalty thing is seriously all the knights. It wasn't just her who was loyal. This is just my opinion for season one. Please don't hate on it. I still have yet to read season two.
I can't speak for others but for me, Miss Paul's dedication to being a knight and carrying out her Knightly duties is enough for me to love her. From the very beginning she's never been prone to self-pity, she just took life as it came and tried to crave out a future for herself. She chose that road of struggle and never made excuses. She persevered and dedicated her life to one dream and any person watching from the sidelines would surely admire her even if they don't love her. A male knight wouldn't have lasted long in her shoes, that's the cold truth. The emperor spent 10 years with such a courageous, dedicated and honest individual....it's not too hard to guess at why he loves her. As for the 'betrayal' you speak of.....The country already lost and became a part of acrea. As a colonized nation, the subjects will be forced to submit to their new ruler. For those who show dissent/ rebel, they'll immediately be put to death. Not just Miss Paul but the ppl of her country also chose to submit to their ruler, they just wanted the war to end. So did they all 'betray' their country? No, their country is still intact and the ppl/ children will not have to worry about any war. They will attain peace and that's all that matters. A country that puts pride before ppl is bound to fall, it's not worth pledging loyalty to such a thing. The reason Miss Paul even sold any info on her country and neighboring countries is to win trust. She wanted a space in the acrean army and she will need to fight for it. If she didn't, she would have nothing left to her life. Her parents abandoned her and she spent several years as a knight dashing her prospects of a good marriage or stable career, so her future looked bleak.....it's no surprise why she joined the army, that's her only way to crave something for herself. This is in no way to hate your opinion, just providing more perspective.
As I said before, I started liking FL. I can now better grip her situation. However, The whole point of my comment was simply explaining how I feel it was a bit rocky when ML just suddenly fell in love. Why was it rocky? Well: At first it seemed like they were just good friends for the whole season 1. They had a very stable friendship and obviously no feelings for each other. Like when someone brought in a rumor about them loving each other, They both seemed very unphased. They didn't care about the rumors because they were just friends. Then suddenly at the end of season one he falls in love with her. I think it was just a bit... Rocky. He should've shown signs of him developing feelings but nope! He just suddenly says he loves her and then he's so unnatural and blush all of season two. It was just so- random. And it's even more weird that it's already almost half way into season two and FL shows absolutely no interest while ML became some lovesick dog.
It's true that there weren't any overt gestures of affection/ adoration. When I was reading the 1st season, I slowly saw the emperor becoming very comfortable with Miss Paul. He could simply be Lucius around her and there were instances where he confided in her. Although it's true that he's that way with Sir Aino as well. Hence, there are rumors btw him x Aino and him x Miss Paul. Though, unlike with Aino, he gets pretty defensive/ protective when it comes to Miss Paul. We see moments where he doesn't like ppl discrediting her, whereas with Aino he enjoys pegging him down. The emperor is very calculating and ambitious. He also keeps everyone/ everything at a distance. Only Aino knows his deepest thoughts and Aino has known him all his life. So for s/o like him, these actions were enough for me to feel that he has some feelings, even if they aren't deep. Since this seems to be his 1st love, he's quite like a newbie in love. Looking forward to seeing miss paul, hoping that she misses him, hoping to impress her, looking forward to her letters etc. On Miss Paul's side, they are def good friends and nothing more. Whether or not this will change, it's too soon to tell. I heard we are at 1/3rd of the novel. So much is to be covered.
I think there is only one person updating this so I can understand why it's slow on updates.
You guys needs sit down and get a history lesson. Kai can't do anything. Why? Well, Because:
1. He is underaged and can't make decisions like that alone.
2. He doesn't have much power yet.
3. He's probably scared right now.
4. His guardians are more influential and respectable.
Let me explain furthermore for you who can't seem to understand. Now, If you think Kai is an idiot and useless, Read below!
Kai is still a child. Even as the emperor, He clearly doesn't have many supporters or help. If his own teaching instructor just ratted him out, Obviously the people around him are in it for the fame. Now, Let's talk more about his position right now. The emperor is a highly respected position as the leader of their land. An emperor makes the best decisions for the people. They have to have a lot of respect and people backing them up to do certain things. Here is an example. This is in absolutely no way meant to be racist. I just got done watching the news so I thought of this. Let's say President Trump wanted to blow up China. Could he just do it because he wants to? No. He'd need the help of the Vice president and many politicians/ People of the military to agree. Now let's translate this into the story. Kai wants to do something. ( he's the president. ) yet Grand Duke and Edith are preventing him from doing that. ( They're the politicians and Vice president. ) the moral of this example is, Even if your position is extremely high sometimes you can't do certain things without other highly influential people supporting you. Edith and Grand Duke have been in the world of high society for many many years while Kai seriously just got into it. He's totally outmatched even if he is the emperor. Of course people will believe the side which is more powerful. Kai only has the Duke and his sister. What Grand Duke and Edith said is also true. I think it is a real crime to give the emperor something like that book. They just called it out with bad intentions. If Kai does do something, Things will get messy. Everyone who does respect him will probably lose respect for trying to avoid his sister from being punished by the law. In another case, He is still just a child. A lot of people who could help him are against him so he's all alone. I don't know why people expect him to do something under these circumstances. He really can't just order them to stop or something. He has only gotten so far because he's emperor in title and people can't just shit talk or bully him.
Which reminds me, The chapter ended before the Duke could do anything. So you all should also stop hating on the Duke for not doing anything yet. He was just letting the other side explain their story. Just because he didn't scream at them doesn't mean he won't do anything. I have faith in him. People say in the raws he definitely does something.
On another note, Please don't comment about my trump example. This comment is meant to teach people why Kai can't do anything. I'd appreciate it if you didn't try to meme it.

This is one really weird opinion but I want Payne to fall in love with Sasha. Not her love him back but just like care for him. Lilith seriously has a lot of issues she needs to work out. I don't think she can support him right now. Well, Sasha has her issues too but Eh. Maybe I just don't like seeing Lilith with Payne. I don't like her character for some reason so, Maybe that's why.
I think you may just have the reverse harem disease, where you want every man to fall in love with the main character that is a proxy of yourself.

I believe it is revenge porn disease. Where you need a proper villain, and for them to suffer giving viewers the satisfaction. I think the Lilith isn't the villain protagonist turnout doesn't sit well a lot of people, including myself. There is a desire for her to be the hidden villainess and for her to have nothing.

Confession time: When I first read this, I thought the emperor was the ML. Like I genuinely thought that Karsus was just some side character who would show up for the first bit then leave. LMFAO I don't even know why I thought that but I just remember thinking the emperor was the guy who found Sica as a child. Turns out I was so wrong.

I probably should. I forgot plots so easily--
I liked FL until she started becoming mentally abusive to her spirits. She claimed she doesn't want anything to happen to her while summoning more spirits and going dangerous places that gets her into danger. She really hasn't learned her lesson. I think she remembers her past life ( Pretty sure ) so shouldn't she be a bit more smart? Bad and good things can happen to everyone. But FL really just gets into the bad things constantly with her stupid decisions. "WhY CanT ThE GoDs GivE mE a SimPlE lIfE." The gods aren't doing it, You are. She's getting herself into all this trouble then has a shit attitude towards her spirits. It's so shocking that her spirits actually tolerate her behavior. FL is overly prideful just because she accomplished summoning spirits. She should learn to be less prideful. Oh and, I hate how she's teaching her spirits to steal and such. Even if it was for another spirit stone, Stealing shouldn't be okay. She seems to really have 0 respect for her spirits and what they're doing on all levels. I get she's just being comfortable with them but it's really going to far. They aren't simply tools for her to use and become the strongest. I don't understand why people like her character when she's like this. For God sakes, She held her snake spirit over shit to force him to listen and steal. I hope the Male lead isn't that pushover guy who likes her. I really hope it'll be someone who can fix her attitude and respect. At first I was hoping for her snake spirit to become human and date her but it's obviously not what she needs. Her snake is just a pushover who listens to her. Plus, He's like billions of years older. That would be creepy. And if they do end up together, It'd be because of how hot he is. Their personalities aren't compatible enough. Please don't reply to me with some sort of argument about how she's changing or how I'm wrong. This is really just what I think about her now. I understand she is still a child and facing character development.
Totally agree I don't like it neither and I do really hope she will get better at respecting her spirits at least she know how arrogant and bad as a person she is. I have a lot of love and hate for her or more like hate xD.

I was so excited about this but now... No thanks. She's fine with allowing her husband to talk down on himself. It's obvious this will be another "My husband is so hot I can't leave him" case. Yikes- She doesn't even care about how he feels. She's just concerned about how attractive he is and how she can't divorce such a hot guy. Just- Yikes. Then later on she'll "fall in love" with his personality while still obsessing over his looks. I definitely do not recommend this if you want a FL with good intentions. And the ML is like, Not intending to fish for compliments but it feels like he is. I wonder how he views everyone else if he thinks he's ugly.
