I thought I would share this link for anyone looking to read the rest since it is out of print.
This book has captured the feeling of confusion, guilt and desperation when a friend dies. It may not have struck a cord for many people considering the rating but it hit home for me. The self destructive desire to go places or to do actions their loved one had when alive. Even they way they never talked again after they all stopped mourning is familiar. Most of this applies to orie who seems to let himself be used by the others almost as an attempt to distract himself from his own feelings. Maybe it just hits me because there was a time I used to be like the orie in the midpoint in the book but eventually became similar to the one in the end.
The afterword is sad. Makes me wonder how the story would have gone if there was no constant checking to make sure that things were okay. I think the stress of censoring effected the artist and took away from the story. Probably had to rewrite a good portion of it and you can tell because it gets less gruesome after the first few chapters. Wonder what was in it to make people complain to the publisher though.
I will never understand why someone would put in a colour page in with such high contrast. it's a quick fix that would make the transition from mono to colour less jarring. There's also the more minor issue that adding colour seems to mess up page composition completely especially with the high contrast colours. This gives me flash backs to library manga where every once in a while someone would colour several pages.
That ending was sweet. (=・ω・=)
