...this was awful. Kuroda didn’t do much to discourage that high school girl’s behaviour, and his college behaviour seems more like he’s doing performative romance to keep Shiro happy. Simple words like “I’m seeing someone” would do. I’ve been in Kuroda’s place many times and I’ve had clingy and overly emotional boyfriends and girlfriends like Shiro. THIS is not how you treat them, it only serves to encourage their insecurities. And the emotions-healing dick? No, just no.
...may have just been an obsessive ex or someone who was super into Sam but had a mental breakdown when she found out about Eli. That’s why she killed Eli in his previous life.
Or, the girl may have been dating that student (Rovene? idk I don’t remember) since he seems like the loose type. And she must have seen Eli with Rovene. She never told Eli to stay away from “Sam”, only that Eli should “leave him alone/stay away from him” without clarification.
I really liked this one. Shame it’s a one shot(?).
I read the Japanese chapters, and apparently the older brother caught Nakamura sleeping with his then-boyfriend and was deeply hurt and betrayed. I really hope the older brother is in a good place, specially since the two people who you thought you could trust were fucking each other behind your back + he was disowned by their parents. I know that this manga is primarily from the seme and uke’s side of the story, but I couldn’t help but sympathise the older brother more, even though we barely catch a glimpse of his face. That betrayal must have been a hell of a blow - I couldn’t even pay much attention to Nakamura’s bewildered, crying face. He was sleeping with the guy that his older brother had obviously been fucking for a very long time - what did he expect tbh.
To be fair, Hayato was in middle school. So at most he was a 9th grader and at least a 7th grader. And it was Urabe's brother who got disowned, not hayato. I mean, I feel bad that Urabe's parents are homophobic but his brother put himself in a situation to be caught. I do hope we get to see his brothers story though.
The black haired guy likes getting close to cats, caring for them, growing attached to them, to the point that the cats seek him out persistently even though the black haired guy cannot/doesn’t ant to keep the cats. I feel like this says a lot about his relationships with other people, and possibly with the main character as well.
It’s a bit of a mess. Will the future remain the same, has it been changed, or is this taking place in some alternate universe? If it was changed, then how could have spirit!Neo appeared back in highschool if the future changed?
Man... the story isn’t complicated or confusing, but the way it’s delivered just seems so messy...
I’m interpreting the ending as Kyungsoo placing himself in Yule’s shoes?
“I hurt a good guy. I’ll never be happy again.”
Kyungsoo strongly believes he hurt Donggook, and Yule has become more self-aware that he hurt Kyungsoo.
I suspect the ending was “We both hurt a genuinely good person, and neither of us deserve happiness. Might as well suffer together.”
Christ guys...... this manwha was depressing from start to finish.
In the last chapter Kyungsoo was thinking about how much he believed he emotionally hurt Donggook because of everything that happened. Because Kyungsoo sees Donggook as a pure, good-hearted person, Kyungsoo is blaming himself by saying he’ll never be happy again because of the pain he caused. When Kyungsoo met Yule again, he realised that Yule must be feeling the same way. Yule emotionally, physically, and sexually hurt Kyungsoo and Yule’s finally come to understand how much pain he’s caused to Kyungsoo, who’s also a pure and good-hearted person.
So in the end, Yule and Kyungsoo, who are blaming themselves for all the pain they’ve caused (Yule @ Kyungsoo and Kyungsoo @ Donggook), figured that they might as well stay and suffer together.
I was looking at some of the backgrounds and inking used for chapters 4 and 5, and I realised that the mangaka used the exact same brushes as I do. As in, the exact same brushes that someone else customised themselves and put up for download on the CSP Assets site. So I use the same digital art software as them. It interested me because there were times when I was going to give up on digital drawing, but to see that such great stories were made using the same tools - I was merely blocking myself from progressing because of my negativity. That’s all. You can ignore this haha.
You can do it! I believe in you!
