I started reading Choose Your Heroes Carefully and it reminded me of a story that sort of has a similar premis.
The main character is a shepard who looks after his flock on a hill where heroes end up being resurrected. I think it's a singular hero party fighting the demon lord or something. Anyway through countless resurrections the main hero and the sheppard become close etc
I think it was a manga but I could be wrong, I remember it being relatively short. Perhaps even incomplete.
Anyone got any leads on what it could be? I know this isn't a lot to go off
