As someone else wrote before, read Riftan's Pov if you want to know why he is the way he is! He cares so much for Maxi and is so green for her (even though he doesn't show it here and the manhwa doesn't show all the emotions the novel describes)
Then there is a lack of communication between them so much that you go completely crazy!!! But believe me, Maxi is the only thing that matters in Riftan's eyes! <3
Just because he's obsessed with her and loves her doesn't mean his behavior isn't toxic and unhinged and controlling sometimes.
Like I said, read his Pov and you'll understand why he's the way he is! He is controlling but far from toxic...he has lived out in the wild surrounded by only men and constantly been at war since childhood, he knows everything about that particular life and Maxi knows nothing about it, of course he is terrified that something will happen to her! After a certain chapter they will finally (sort of) start communicating with each other though :)

Haha exactly! Then of course they could have communicated better with each other to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings...Riftan thinks that Maxi grow up just sitting in a luxurious castle with lots of nobel people doing nothing. If she had only told him about her childhood from the beginning he would have behaved in a different way for sure!! :)

I absolutely love when the tsundere person start to show his feelings! This is the second time Euihyun starting a move...Taeju did all he can do to correct his past mistakes and Euihyun started to open his heart and finally started saying his thoughts and showing his emotions when it was only Taeju who talks everytime to resolve their problems! (Too bad Euihyun started showing everything in the last chapters though) <3

Take it easy on the Riftan's slander! Yeah, he has attitude but who wouldn't when you are the commander of everyone + your wife is suddenly there and you have to worry about her too! Those of you who have read the novel know that the communication between these two is catastrophically bad....*sigh*
Maxi may be a strong woman but not THAT strong. She's just started to learn a bit more of a basic type of magic, so Riftan has every right to be worried about her!
I agree as well, Maxi is strong but not strong and Riftan literally has to worry abt her safety and everyone else around him. It's a given, she wanted to prove herself understandable and needed the experience sure. But the knights can't be there to save her either. Or Riftan for that matter. I too feel like she should've focus more on her training so she can be stronger and such, it feels she just wants to be like the princess in a way. But It is what it is.
Yeah, totally agree! She always compares herself to the princess and it's probably due to her low self-esteem!
