Why are you also forgetting that LWJ used to regularly punish WWX for the tiniest things, physically or by making him copy the rules?
Saying "I hate you", always calling him "pathetic" or "wei ying" (in which, when you're not close or family, is considered like a lack of respect). Do you also want me to mention others people who called him "Wei Ying" with disdain? Wen Chao & Lan Qiren.

Don't take me wrong, I like LWJ and I cherish Wangxian and I think they're the cutest couple ever but I'm annoyed at people who always portray LWJ as if he was flawless & excusable before WWX died.

I kinda agree with you, sure Lan Wangji had his faults and I won’t deny that he had this kind of “My way is the only right way” attitude. But at the same time he was raised in a different environment than Wei Wuxian, while he was playing in the lakes he was writing and reciting rules.

The difference in upbringing could result in how Lan Wangji communicated with others, he was taught very strictly what was right and wrong and how those who didn’t follow weren’t good. In a way Wei Wuxian challenged that with how he was and what he believed. I think Lan Wangji grew up to become more tolerant because of Wei Wuxian, he defended him when everyone had found out he had reincarnated for example. He changed over time and after Wei Wuxian returned he wasn’t the same as before.

So yes Lan Wangji wasn’t perfect before and neither was Wei Wuxian but they both developed with time, in the end I really do love Wangxian and their character development plus relationship development!

I really respect your way of thinking. But I gotta say a few corrections are needed about what you said.
1. When WWX Went to study at cloud reccesses Iet's not forget that LWJ was only 16 years old going through puberty. Now a days if a boy finds out he likes another boy it still takes them a lot of time to except himself so it only makes sence if LWJ had a hard time excepting himself not to mention it is ancient China we are talking about in top of that he had to worry about his sect and everything. So I don't blame him for not doing anything at that time.
2. At the cave of Xuanwu, it is obvious that LWJ had already understood that he had feelings for WWX but still couldn't accept those unrequited feelings. It was shown how LWJ ended up crying in the cave in from of WWX. Now that has a special meaning. LWJ is the type of person who will rather die than cry Infront of someone but he still eneded up crying in presence of WWX making it obvious that he feels comfortable around WWX more that anyone else.
3.LWJ and JY Weren't the only one who stood up for him there were other people too and one of the most important of them were Mianmian. She had to leave her sect because she stood up for WWX how can people forget a charecter like her. It's kind of annoying how people only regard her as a love rivel of WWX and LWJ which she deffinetly isn't. She disserves better.
4.it was not LWJ who punished him it was LQR and LWJ was assistaned to look after him so WWX will not slack off. As for the birth name it was totally WWX who initiated that they should use their birth name to address eachother so why would you put it like that??

LWJ has a lot of flaws but then again who doesn't. He didn't really stand up for WWX at the very beginning though deed down he was supporting WWX he never opposed other people who were badmouthing WWX like Mianmian did. He stood up for WWX at the very end but it was already too let then. After loosing WWX, LWJ came to realise that as long WWX was by his side it didn't matter whether he has a demonic cultivator or did he difended the wens as long WWX was there it was all he needed. But it was already too late at that point.
