Are separate notes on a cello chords?? Less chords on a cello than a piano?. Isn't it the same on every instrument? Did they mean note? Lol

Less chords on the cello because it's hard to do one. If you look at the bridge of the cello, it's steeper compared to other instruments. If you position your bow, the chance of hitting three strings at once is really low unless your strings are relatively new but sturdy. Recall that you can play one note per string, whereas on a piano you're able to hit multiple notes at once bc that's how it's made. Also, it's really scary to snap cello strings bc they're thick af, thicker than guitars.

What's said above is true and it's similar with the violin (my instrument) and as said, there is a lot less variety as to the chords you can play both because you can only play one note per string and it's hard to manoeuvre the bow in such a way, but also because you can only really play strings that are adjacent to each other because otherwise there is a high chance you'd hit the note of the string between and that ruins the chord.
The cello position being based on the floor just makes it even harder to manoeuvre a bow

!! It really bothering me, feeling that the translator meant cords (i.e. the strings) and not cHords! Maybe it is chords, but most string instruments start with a single string rather than a whole chord when tuning, I was always taught (but I don't play strings).
One letter can make such a difference.

I think you are right but my violin tuning was playing first each string once but then chords without any fingers on the strings to make sure that they are harmonious and in tune because they should be in tune if they work perfectly together if not there are slight adjustments that can be made with the fine tuning
Holy heck i respect the rival for once! Really proud of her and her honesty
