I'm a chick, so I've read a lot of yaoi manga, but just recently started reading bara. I have to say that most bara I've come across seems much more believable to real-life scenarios and I think that's great. Some gay friends who've flipped through my yaoi from time to time were like, "This is such bullshit. This NEVER happens in real life." And I get that. Really enjoyed this because it had depth and wasn't just fluff.
Bara is more commonly written by gay men rather than by women, so I guess it’s the authors experience that makes it more believable rather than a woman writing yaoi for fun. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ It’s great!
