Basically it's just the father is an asshole, I don't think he ever love his wife much less his son. Also his son isn't related to him biologically. the mom did love the father at first? Before marriage that is until she realizes he sees her beneath him and treat her like a cash cow so she manipulate him and "tame" him. Hmm the father cheat on her because he felt loveless ig. But still the father is a massive red flag, he saw love as a weakness and always took advantage of it for money

The mc went to pick up his wife and son from the airport. While driving the wife brings up divorce mc and they crash.
Mc wakes up 8 months later, finds out that his wife is in coma after the accident and his son is his legal guardian cause he was incapacitated for so long, he also doesn’t remember the accident.This is where is get weird, son rapes mc. He tells his father that he saw his mother punishing (bdsm) mc for cheating on him, when he was younger, proceeds to do the same thing. After some shit (mc slit his wrist) they end up in a fucked up relationship.
*Why is the son obsessed with mc (father)?
Mc was neglectful dad. He felt a little resentful towards him because he could do piano recitals and his wife had stopped procuring them for him. She basically forced to stay at home and raise son while he was a baby. (Part of her “revenge” or “punishment”). Well as son grew up he yearned for his father’s love and attention. After he saw his mother punishing he started to lust for his father, which to his credit knew was wrong, so he tried to distance himself from his father. However his mother knew that he had jerked to his father and egged him on. By saying that mc is basically her property and once she divorces him dies (she is terminally ill at this point, mc doesn’t know) he’ll be his. After the accident, son meets his mother in the hospital and confronts her about him not having the same or equal blood type as mc. Crazy bitch told him, she picked a donor with a different type so mc would find out down the line. Wasn’t clear but I believed she caused the accident. So in response to everything beats his mother into coma.
*Now the mc and his wife. (My take) A thin line between love and hate.
The Mc and his wife had a fucked up relationship, he married her money, she married him to get back at him, the ml was conceived as a way to trap mc. Mc acted as if he didn’t like or love her but I think he did, he also thought she was just using him as plaything and would get rid of him once she was done.
I think mc was just I wanna say emotionally stunted, his parents had committed suicide right before they got together in his apt. (their business had bankrupt). He didn’t want to live in poverty and she wanted liked him.
However she grew resentful once mc treated their relationship like a sugar daddy relationship. So what does she do? She goes and gets pregnant via ivf to trick him to marry her. Weird yes.
Later down the road she tells mc she only married him she needed heir and it wouldn’t look good if she wasn’t married
Basically these two kinda deserved each other, they liked/ loved each other to some degree just didn’t communicate to one another and had a fucked up relationship and raised equally fucked up child, who is the product of their hate/love.

tbh im kind of disappointed with the ending, especially after waiting for so long. i love all the characters, though! especially woojin (my favorite) and haegyung—they could've been one of the best BL couples if it hadn't ended like that.
