Rn eve is trying to manipulate Adam by acting coy!!!! So that Adam won't leave him. I have a hunch he has his past memories. And in past Adam left eve bcs guiding went terrible, he almost injured himself badly ( to the point he now limps) while guiding eve; they do have a significant difference in their level. So may be he's thinking Adam will leave him again bcs Adam is in pretty bad condition rn as well hence trying to manipulate him by crying and acting
