I actually agree with this one. They're really cute right now together but there's something sad about bringing them together. Though, if they do end up together, it can't obviously be now cause she's still traumatized by her past and they are both still quite unstable. They truly need closure and time.

Second point, this story is a self-harm story. This is weird, I know but sometimes you want to read some tragic stuff. Idk, like I sometimes don't like myself that much and sometimes I do go to stories like this to make myself feel even worse.

On the upside, this does make the sad feeling turn into anger which helps. But then it's sad empty anger. Wanting to rebel but also feeling what the mc is feeling (the emptiness)

But hopefully we will get to see him being miserable and that will give us such a high

you cannot bring up toxic misogyny, while ignoring the ml's experiences. his suffering is just as valid as her suffering.

toxic misogyny not only affects women but also men. if you read the story, the only reason the ml is burying himself in work and getting money is because that's the only way a misogynistic society will consider him worthy of the fl. which is complete and utter bullshit just like what the fl experienced, being expected to humble herself and accept her shitty life because she's been "chosen" by a "good man."

if you can have empathy for the fl, you should also have empathy for someone forced to slave his life away to prove himself worthy of happiness just for people to shit on his hardwork by stealing and hurting the only person he wants to see happy.

I’m just more frustrated towards the ML because from my point of view he’s never once made the effort to properly talk and work out things between him and the FL and I get that he’s also been through a lot of shit as well but I feel like he should be able to at least make more of an effort to communicate with his wife despite having gone through a rough past and also the FL as well of course but she’s not strong both mentally and physically atm and needs more help than the ML right now.

i agree that the misunderstandings in this story is really frustrating but why does it fall on the ml to make an effort to fix it? technically speaking he needs help more than anyone because his sense of self-esteem and self-worth is broken. he thinks he has no worth besides his money because all his life he's been made to feel like he's not worth for anything. in contrast the fl grew up in a loving and caring household and is raised very well without going through much hardship.

the ml isn't experiencing much abuse rn but he's basically a walking trauma. you cant expect him to be perfect and just set those traumas aside cause he's not perfect, just like how the fl couldn't handle her current shitty life.

the fl said it as well, "he doesn't know about me, just as much as i dont know about him." and ml is also starting to understand why his wife wants a divorce with him. they're both just starting to get to know each other.

i can tell you care about equality and feminism so i also suggest not to use the excuse that "she's not strong mentally and physically so he has to be the one fix her" men aren't a rehab for broken women, and vice versa. they both have issues, and until they both understand each other and each other's pain, none of them is capable of reaching out.

that's one of the epiphanies that creates a turn on the story. it gets the story running. personally i'm interested in how the author is gonna handle their traumas and how it's gonna go in the future. but if you find the story to still be unpleasant after all this then by all means.

As you’ve said this is a problem for the BOTH of them to fix so they should properly solve their issues together with one another with each step they take towards (hopefully) coming to a complete understanding of each other.

I’m not one to start unnecessary drama and completely ignore other people’s opinions/statements when it comes to these type of topics. I like to listen and try to understand everyone’s pov and learn from my mistakes when it comes to using specific terms that shouldn’t be used in the way that I carelessly throw them out there like that.

Do I still want to continue on with this story?? Most likely not only because my heart can’t handle this type of angst lol (especially when the main character is a woman it hits harder for some reason) but I’ve definitely had a change of heart towards the ML now(▰˘◡˘▰)

i really do agree that this story hits right where it would hurt. because it's very a realistic situation.

it's a realistic problem that women are forced to humble themselves and take every bullshit thrown in their way because they have it "easy" or they're just being too emotional and they're not actually hurting "it's not that hard". shit like that happens every time towards women. and on the other hand, guys are forced to be emotionless, to get pointless achievements and amass useless wealth just to be considered a "good man" or "worthy" or attractive.

and this story perfectly illustrates the huge disconnect between men and women. even though they're both suffering and should work together to get better, they instead clash because they both end up having so many misconceptions towards each other. it's sad but very apparent.

this is just one of the few stories that doesn't just use the ml's trauma as a prop to be forgiven. so far it's been used to bridge a gap between the main couple and i find that satisfying in the midst of all the other bullshit that's happening in the story.

that said though, you have a valid reason for dropping this story. and for that, i have a huge respect for you as person, it's really been pleasant discussing this with you.
