I have a theory when his asephs dad sold his mother to the nobleman I think that it was the king and he killed her because she was pregnant ans he wasn't having like another prince and he didn't want her to have any more power so he killed her and her husband and try to set a his house on fire and kill aseph.(⊙…⊙ )

Well it was shows that zays father lit the house on fire after asephs mother told him to because aseph wasnt home yet and his mother didn't want him to see the scene. I have a different theory, maybe the king got asephs mom pregnant and the queen knew about it. So she killed asephs mother and blamed the fire on the first prince that's why he was exiled at the age of 5. Cause the king was so mad that the first prince caused the fire. The queen would say that the first prince "accidentally" set fire to the village and killed the king's son. Also zays father knew about asephs mothers pregnancy because he was so loyal to the king, but now he doesn't trust the king because he thought that the king killed asephs mother. That's why in that scene it looked like zays father knew who asephs mother was. I think the queen told what she did all those years ago to her son (the red haired second prince) and that's why the prince is causing all those monster attacks. And thats also why he is also trying to marry zay so he can get the throne.
This is just a guess for fun I have many theories for this..... like a lottttt

Okay my theory is Aseph might be the kings son from probably like a long ass time ago and (idk if this makes sense but here we go) maybe his mother ran away with aseph when she was pregnant and probably someone in the royal family didn't want him to be born or take the throne so they tried to kill him after finding out 5 years later when she's sold to a noble who is probably the king or something she runs away once agian but this time she's caught and yall know how in those time lines they didn't like illegitimate children and killed them Aseph is probably one of those (no idea if this makes complet sense but I think the whole answer to their problems lies in his mother's past cause the king wouldn't want to kill some poor family and dirty his own hands for no reason

Maybe the king got asephs mom pregnant and the baby was aseph. The king knew about it and sent out assassins to kill their whole family. I think the king blamed the fire on the first prince that's why he was exiled at the age of 5, however the prince was just a scapegoat for the king. Cause the king didn't want the first prince to succeed the throne. (not sure why he didn't want him to succeed the throne?) Also zays father doesn't trust the king because he knows from the assassins that the king tried to kill asephs, however instead killed his mother. And asephs mother knew zays father somehow... not sure how but they know each other. maybe a affair??? That's why in that scene it looked like zays father knew who asephs mother was. I think the king and the second prince (the red haired second prince) were worried about the first prince coming back due to the throne succession. That's why the prince is causing all those monster attacks and that's also why he is trying to marry zay because zay comes from an influential family so he could get the throne easily when marrying her. So he wouldn't have to worry about the first prince getting the throne when he comes back. I'm going to reread it and try to think of a better theory with aseph as the kings child in mind. :)
