I'm not sure what to tell you. I read this on my third try I also couldn't get to it at first, for some reason, but after finally reading it I always come to re-read it. The uke's inferiority complex and obsession doesn't get better till the extra chapters I believe, he kinda realizes is not that he wants to be better but more like he wants the seme's attention. It's definitely toxic but I'd give it one more try and finish it. At least the plot, in my opinion, is very good.
I skip those first chapters everytime on my reread cause it's definitely painful seeing him so obsessed but dw he gets better. He himself acknowledges about his unhealthy obsession towards the end(and it's such a beautiful moment)and the ml too questions his thought process at times so it's not shrugged off. It's definitely worth the read, seeing him change his attitude and their growing relationship. You will definitely dislike him until halfway through the story but again, toward the end, you'll come to love or atleast be ok with him dw. Personally, i love him.

I am not understanding why you guys feel bad for ML he is a rapist. And the relationship is full of coercion and manipulation, telling someone you have a fetish and not discoursing what it is; is not a heads up. so no, I do not feel bad for him at all and I do not understand why you guys feel bad for him and why you can feel bad for a rapist. when you are telling someone "I'm your boyfriend" or "this is what couples are supposed to do" or even "do you not trust me enough" that is coercion and manipulation. I feel like I should not have to say this and it's self-explanatory. you cannot use the excuse that the MC is timid. I feel like that should be taken into account even more because that means even more when he says no, he means no. so if you feel bad for that, ML, I would even go as far as saying think about your morals, please. You cannot excuse the misunderstandings that happened in the past because he should grow as a person and understand that he needs better communication.
There's a problem with the 3 of them. If the ML keeps going like this, it's natural to think that he would have it difficult to really fall in love with anyone; the uke is very naive and unexperienced in love too, he just lives out of his own illusions... so they are both toxic. Even the guy with neko eyes is so naive... I think only their friends are the mature ones.... We all should learn from our mistakes and I'm hoping that this happens here... Maybe we are going to a more toxic turn out, which I'd enoy too... But overall, the 3 main characters have a problem with handling a relationship in a healthy way.
