Agni is just an exampleof POC being killed off just cause, especially in asian fiction. They're usually portrayed as strong and talented in martial arts or dance and exotic, then when not necessary sacrifice their lives. It made no sense to the plot. (Half serious) Agni was one of the best side characters and the friendship between him and Sebastian was a beautiful thing. (︶︿︶)＝凸
It made sense since his main goal was to protect Soma. If Soma was in any danger it's inevitable that Agni would wither protect him or die trying. He just happened to be a POC.
