idk if it's just curiosity for him but since the start, he knew about haesoo's relationship with joowon. "an unknown writer having a physical relationship with a famous actor + they used to be stepbrothers" he found it amusing and wanted in on the drama. then haesoo ends up as the journalist for his photography debut. apart from being physically attracted to haesoo (cause who wouldn't be) he's also hung up on haesoo's secret scandal regarding joowon so he indirectly manipulates him using his sex tape with his previous lover. he thought that if haesoo wrote about such controversy in his publication company, haesoo would become guilty and would do something for him in return. amidst all that, joowon became wary of haesoo x taku so he starts acting on his feelings. taku becomes even more intrigued with the drama after meeting joowon considering he knew he was riling him up just by being with haesoo. he was a spectator towards haesoo x joowon but along the way, he went in too deep and caught feelings. now he wants haesoo all to himself despite knowing haesoo's in love with joowon. his intentions were anything but pure.
let me just preface this by saying: i dont dislike Taku
people think he's toxic cause he was hella manipulative to get with haesoo (yknow with his sex tape shit). like his thought process with all of that is honestly kind of gross and hella unethical considering his job. also he kept pushing forward with his advances onto haesoo when haesoo JUST broke off his relationship with joowon and was very emotionally vulnerable and hurt. And also the fact that his first thought when joowon got into a serious accident is to get angry at his friend for telling haesoo about it. like um... he knows how much joowon means to haesoo, so that's not cute at all. he cares more about keeping haesoo to himself, than caring about how haesoo actually feels (especially when joowon couldve been way more seriously hurt). it comes across as obsessive rather than loving.
but you know what... i think despite taku's shitty moments, the truth is humans in reality are just like that. theyre selfish, and jealous, and manipulative at times, and taku just reflects that. plus haesoo is the FIRST person he grew to actually feel this strongly for, so I understand how he's not dealing with the thought of losing him very well. he kinda reminds me of Haesoo at the beginning of the story, manipulating joowon's actions and emotions for some sign that Joowon does in fact love him, or wishing that Joowon would get hurt for his sake ╮(￣▽￣)╭
i also think he did it for some mental shit. his professor in japan told him that rather than taking pictures through a lens he needed to actually look at what he was picturing. first and foremost he was captivated with haesoo's appearance while also being drawn to his background. taku's stated before that he's never wanted to really look at the person he's taking photos of even tho his style is artistic nudity. that may be one of the reasons why he was so drawn to haesoo. that in itself is pretty fucked up as well
