Umm.. How people rate manga, depends on many factors; taste, culture, experience, AGE, etc.. Many kids read yaoi because of curiosity about sex.. I've ever seen comment that, "She never read wording and skips to see sex scenes only." got lot of "Agree".
Rating helps but can't fully tell about manga as there're many overrated or underrated manga.
The best way is.. just pick the one we like or think it's great into our favorite lists, regardless rating..

Wow.. If you think outside the box you're basically offending the authors who spent all their time and effort creating the manga that they made, you are sick. So what If the plots are "ridiculous"? It was made for people who has a specific kink or they want a unique scene they want to be able to enjoy it. Its free so why say its cheap? You're not acknowledging people enough In their works and you're just garbage.
I personaly agree with you, but everyone has their own preference so there is no need to complain. Besides, create a good plot isn't easy, that's why masterpiece is rare.
you're wrong about something. yaoi, is a "cheap porn book" it started that way and even though there are good ones with plot lately, it's still essentially a smut-without-plot book. i have been aware of BL even before year 2000 and i've practically seen it's evolution. sure, there are excellent mangakas that are able to give a good plot despite it being yaoi but the fact that yaoi is the fujoshi's answer to the otaku's hentai genre is because there is a demand for it and because the fujoshis wish for it.
try not to glorify the genre for what it's not and research what Y.A.O.I. really means. or just strictly read shounen-ai. your pick. either that or turn to erotica novels. there's a lot lying around than waste your time criticizing the whole genre and the rest of the readers.
first thing first, it sells and as you know, it is a manga porn so it doesn't have plot and depending on the taste of viewers it has a good art or just some rough sex act, bigger better.
