I really don't get it. If the mother had ipolito as a love child then that must mean that she was married to the cardinal and had affair with the man named Simon. Then why does having Arabella matters? No one except her would know who Arabella belong to so she could have just claimed her to be Simons as well and still run away with him...i don't get anything here. from what ive gathered from ch75, the mother was preggy with ippolito and was not married at the time so she lived with simone to avoid prosecution since unmarried preggy women are detested.. whilst living with simon and having plans to run away with ippolitos father, she got preggy with arabella tying herself to the de mare family.
but when u think about it... if this were rlly the case... that would mean... during that time... in order to stay with simon, she had to make it that the child shes carrying is simons right??? since she was scared of letting the current simon find out.. that would also mean that isabella is not simons daughter since the mother specifically said that arabellas birth made her prevent from running away from the man who ruined her life (aka simon)???

I love a good slow burn but this is literally just beating around the bush. It's not a slow burn!! Plus why doesn't she just confess already to the prince? Isn't the guilt of hiding such a great secret from someone who loves you so much, big enough to want to confess. Moreover she already got his promise that he will forgive her once. I don’t think that fact was ever mentioned to her, she’s unaware that he planned to marry the princess and she thinks he’s only out to kill her
If i remember correctly, the reason why she hid her identity is because she's the only living heir of a territory he now currently owns. When her appearance is known. That means the people of that territory will want her to be their queen instead of the prince which would cause a revolution. In turn, the prince would have to kill her or marry her but our FL doesnt know that since he did just straight up kill all her family members. So id say its pretty understandable. It wouldnt be just the prince too. Some members of high society would probably banish her or assinate her.
