I don't hate Jihyun. But, I don't like him either. He had multiple chances where he could have redeemed himself. He could have stopped. He had a conscience, he should have just listened to it. I do wish happiness for him, and may he find people who will help him love himself and give him the love he deserves. The environment he grew up in was the worst, but everyone can change. Chiwoo was his chance. If he had listened to half the things Chiwoo kept telling him, he could've saved their friendship and possibly have landed the relationship too. And, I am coming from experience. I saw a person in a similar situation come out of it, improved (not perfect, mind you. trauma is the worst but, i think you get the point). Jihyun could'vedone better but there is a limit to forgiveness too.
Chiwoo, is my favourite. He was there for Jihyun and believed in him till the end of his limit. Anyhuman pushed past their limit will perish. Chiwoo decided that he would let it all go. He didn't forgive Jihyun, for what he did crossed so many lines and broke so much patience , Chiwoo himself being hurt to such an extent was the final straw. As he says in the end, he doesn't wish him happiness but also does, I felt that. They had been by each others sides for so long and for it to go downhill so badly, that hurt.
I could not bring myself to read this because i was scared. I don't read psychological cuz being someone who has seen shit irl, I didn't want to read about it too. Especially, when i come here to escape. But, this gave me a sort of relief. The ending, the events, the characters, how it all turned out.
I am happy for Chiwoo and wish the best for Jihyun. May they both find their happiness in the way which is best for them.
