I like how this is an old tale of morality: save the one life, or save a nation. The weighing of one life over millions is always a debate, and it's made worse here by the fact that the man who is Scarlett's father doesn't seem to be as grieved by the thought of murdering his daughter, and the King prioritises his role as a King to save his country. Where does the grail of Eris come in though?
A grail is a holy cup, something which 'salvation' or immortality can be poured from, yet none of these characters seem to seek redemption for the wrong they have done. In fact, the one who needs redemption in the form of a reincarnation is Scarlett, but we don't know whether or not she'd come back as the same person or someone new. I'm holding onto this theory I've pulled out of my ass and hoping in vain because I absolutely detest Scarlett's father and am hoping Scarlett wasn't his actual child, because I want him to have a reasoning that isn't 'oh, he didn't like women' or 'he was so cut up about his wife's death that he couldn't see his daughter' or, god forbid, 'he never loved Scarlett's mother so he feels no remorse'. Miss me with that bullshit.
Physically, mentally, psychologically I would like to sit and have a talk with this man, but irl? I'd be running after his ass with a bat myself.
