Oh I get you, but this one is obvsly a dark romance/psychological story from the get go and dark romance stories often has triggering contents like noncon/sa/violence and obsessed/unhinged characters. this manhwa is also rated R on lenzhin, meaning not suitable for everyone esp underage.
There are also tons of amazing queer stories that are vanilla/fluff/for all ages or with what ppl call green flag characters. You’re just probably reading the wrong genre and dark romance is maybe not ur cup of tea. So yeah dont read this any further if those triggering things make u uncomfortable bc it’s about to get worse
It’s fine to be dark romance. But this wasn’t tagged as dark romance when I started reading it. And there are a lot of comics where they aren’t dark romance and they start with the lead raping the mc. It’s par for the course in mlm queer spaces. Also dark romance can entail anything awful and the bad guy doesn’t need to be end game. But they always are in these types. It’s so tiring. I’ve been reading bl and gl for over 20 years and this is a popular subset of just glossing over noncon as a part of the story that should happen. Regardless of the tags or genre of the romance.
I agree with u esp the tiring part since most works with disturbing contents tend to get more popular. Actually it’s only labelled as manipulative/ obsessed top/ tsundere on lzhn and they dont usually use the term dark romance, just age rating. Idk but if there is noncon or SA element it should be part of either dark or psychological romance since it’s disturbing and triggering and def not for everyone. Since this title is R rated and can only be search up on the web and meant only for adult readers, lzhin is like ‘read at ur own risk ur old enough to know what type of shit u can handle’ smth like that. But I dont also like this and I prefer if this site provides proper label and tagging. So for me it boils down to properly tagging their works.The rant is also valid for this one bc theres actually no trigger warning indicated on the chapter with SA element before u proceed (unlike w/ ridi & bomtoon they mostly put TW before u proceed with the chapter and u cant also access their r-rated stories easily). Personally, i dont really mind noncon in fiction, for me it’s just a matter whether the author can write good redemption arc for the problematic character of if they would have good character or relationship development
