it is NOT out of pity. in the novel yesuh was "dating" both hahae and yugi but broke up with them due to guilt(?) of having them both. she goes to yugi's and hers secret place where yugi had confessed to her and contemplates/remembers about their moments realizing that it was yugi who had been by her side. when yugi comes to her she tells him he is her home and accepts his feelings and her own. of course, they can change things in the manhwa but this is the novel ending regarding their relationship.
