I'm sorry but did the people who's telling the ml is a red flag knew that this story is set in apocalyptic world where everbody do EVERYTHING to survive so they all agreed to the rules. People are the one who ALL VOTED (except the protagonist) agreeing to the death. The ml just implemented the rule that was set because his the leader. In this case the protagonist was just wasn't aware on how shitty the world became.
He haven't even experienced what its like to kill a zombie. He still have the moral and ethics he had when the world was ordinary and safe. So I get why he acted like that

Marius is a an immature son of a bitch. He knew exactly why he was pushing the kid away because he was scared to be betrayed by a relative again but if he truly cared, he should’ve at least tried to break the cycle instead of letting his trauma ruin an innocent child. Also don’t even get me started on the second sister. The whole miscommunication thingy and walking away without an explanation trope is so frustrating. I get she is afraid of being hated again but come on! YOU DIDN'T THINK FAR ABOUT THAT BEFORE YOU TRAVELED TO OTHER COUNTRY?! Instead of trusting the guy she supposedly cared about and so in love that she got in a fight with her sister, she abandoned him and stripped him of closure and left him confused and hurt. I get that the aunt was so guilty about his parents but to let the guilt consume her for 20+ years and emotionally neglecting a child causing him to have anxiety affecting every aspect of his life feels selfish and self-pitying. How could an aunt not put herself on the child's shoes and think that about his feelings. Instead of letting her guilt and sadness guide her to give her nephew the love and care he can't get from his parents, she pushed him away and made him feel like a burden.

I love that the story didn't forced the redemtion/forgiveness arc for miyabi's parents for the sake of closure or happy ending like so many mangas. It shows that sometimes that's the reality for some people and that is the best for them.

Ps: I wish that season 3 is not about character development shit for miyabi's brother. I get that he was influenced by their parents. I understand that he is a complex character but that doesn't justify what he did to his brother and how he acted when he saw his brother. He doesn't even show any remorse/guilt for his brother.
