Before I was like "Nah, don't show your powers!" but now I'm more "Use them and use them well!"
I think John's inner monologue did it for me to change my view. He realised that not he was the monster but all the one's attacking him.
Even if I too think he's playing in Arlo's hands with using his powers I hope he will be able to control them. And I also hope that he won't use *all* of it like showing only a part of what he can do (still firmly believe that his powers are above god-tier)
Hopefully Sera will come and end this all before it gets out of hand. (or someone else, else i fear for Arlo and the other's health)
Now THIS I one hundred percent agree with! I feel it would ruin the story if he showed his powers completely. But Asslo needs to be taken down a peg. And you're right that may be why John was holding back because he thought he was a monster. No longer holding back at least partially makes sense then.
Arlo, no! QAQ I trusted you! How dare you! T_T
Why? Why did you trust him?
Neither do I. It would be clichéd if he did. So I don't know why the others want him to show it so badly?
Yeah I think I can understand where you're coming from actually. I just don't want him to use his power and then it become the be all and end all of the story. IF John can lay the beat down on Arlo and the rest of the Asslo team without becoming too conspicuous after the fact then I'll be all for it. I really would like to see Asslo get what's coming to him.
And to clarify I didn't trust him but I didn't expect John to not trust him because as the audience we can see far more of Arlo than John can.
So we noe know more about John's ability!
Like it have to be pretty damn high not only because of Isen's reaction but also because at his old school he was Rank 1 aka King!
And we now that his ability does something to the abilites of others when used. Since it is stated that you shouldn't use your ability when handling John.
I'm really curious about what it is! Still thinking about something like absorbtion or negation. (That would also explain the book his father wrote. Because then John would be the one "with power" in a world "full of cripples". When his power is so high all other people would be beneath him. Especially if he can absorb or negate the ability of others)
I don't think it's negation. You don't need to warn someone for that. Somehow I'm reminded with accelerator's vector power. I wonder if he's like that. Or a copycat or an amplifier. Hmm...
I don't know this vector power. Can you explain?
Copycat/amplifier has it's merit too but would he as an amplifier not just hurt himself more? Maybe if you combine it with a reflecting power thou... Amplify and reflect the power used against you. That's something you would warn people about not using their ability I guess.
That does make sense
I really like this! Even so I first thought it was an adaption of a novel kind of thing.
Am I mistaken or is there more than one artist? The art style changed extremely (especially from Vol 1 to 2) but not only the style but different details too (like Taavi's manacles)
I'm looking forward to more of this. Since it's a webtoon does anyone know the original page it's released on? Or if english is the original language?
Still firmly believe his ability is above god-tier. No one can convince me otherwise!
On another note, you think how long he can keep the abilities of others? What's his time range? It can't possible be permanent. So it's like a few minutes? A few hours? If we take in the states of those two students I guess John will keep abilities even beyond the death of their original owners.
Well he didn't use Sera's abilities so I have the same question!
The reason why John can't use Sera's power is because he didn't activate his power when he face off against her.
My theory is that he can only keep one power at a time and he lose the power he mimic every time he mimic a new one.
However,
If he really can keep those power permanently and switch different skills... holy shit no one could beat him. He's a fuckin cheat with such godly power.
Regardless, I think there's still lots about john power that's still not explain.
One power at a time? But in the scenes we see he uses at least to at the same time. The ones from the girl and boy (whirlwind and claws) AND he uses Arlos barrier too (but not at the same time as the other powers? Not sure)
But i really don't think he can hold them perm. That way he probably wouldn't have used the powers of boy and girl or Arlo but one (or maybe two) of the powers of the students of his old school instead. So Arlo wouldn't know that John can copy powers, but has - I don't know - laser eyes or whatelse xD
Yeah! There is lots to explore! His power level for one. Or the question if his father (or mother) has the same power. But now the book his father wrote makes sense. For John, all the other people are like cripples with their limited powers.
A cheat? No. It's not his fault that he copies other people's powers which is what cheat implies. But I still do like your theory about how he has to activate his powers in order to copy others' powers. It could be applied to all the other powered individuals. I never considered that they would actually have to consciously 'switch on' their powers.
