Maannnn i tried ao hard to finish this... But ars is just so incompetent I'm not motivated to continue
Deopped at ch 52
He is incompetent AT FIRST. But he learns from everyone around him. He learns how to see through a situation and win a negotiation from seeing his fiancee in the past and actually won the negotiation alone. He learns how to motivate the soldiers as a general from.all the generals around him. He learns how to strategize when he is alone from mireille and the little boy. He learns how to trust and be brave in a battlefield, he can think for himself about what decision to make and is right about it. He becoming braver and braver with each war that he is going through and I think that's a very good character development for someone who is supposedly "average" in everything.
Most of all, he is taking responsibility fro everything he decided to do and he is very good at heart, that made all the people around him respects him. He stays true to life beliefs and ideals and never took killing for granted. He treats every human the same whether they are enemies or not. Moreover, He took responsibility of his county, of his people and their future.
Not all.characters need to be competent and OP from the start. I think that's exactly why Ars is made to be "average" by the author. A character who is too afraid to look at his own stats, but is average in anything, without knowing what his true talent is, he is trying his best to become.better in everything.
He is still weak at fighting but even in the latest war he could actually make someone much bigger and better than him at fighting to fall down their horse and disrupt the momentum. He is not OP but definitely growing alongside his vassals and he is by no means useless.
Gaaah
This story is how I recharge my heart all the rime
