Seriously I'm so invested it's unbelievable in this day and age of a hundred isekai/reincarnation/whatever stories a year. but this still stands out with its quiet charm, particularly its slightly odd but great characters! both the female and male (esp him!!) leads make great protagonists and have wonderful relationship dynamic.

Exactly! It's one of the rare ones. People keep saying how different it is from the LN but I'm simply grateful that the Artist has taken charge of adapting it into something that stands out (even if it's subtly). More than anything, it's how the adults behave like adults and not yk glorified teenagers
Credit to the artist for sure - I absolutely adore the character designs of all involved, especially our 2 leads (the duke's sleep deprived shadowed eyes may have awakened something in me...) and the uncle!!

FYI because Ch 64 is an extremely important chapter and also the epilogue of LN vol 3 so read it elsewhere to stay on track!

I'd been saving the last few chapters for ages so I just reread the whole thing so far... Such a joy! Maomao is best girl, as always. Can't get enough of her amazing expressions and Jinshi's reactions. Also, I adore how kind, insightful, and discreet she is, in her own unique way. She's so clever, so capable, and sooo funny (mostly unintentionally). One of the best female characters ever!
Please support the author/mangaka in any way you can, especially by buying the English licensed versions. I really hope its sales and popularity increases so all versions of the story can get licensed eventually - I want it all! This is definitely among my Top 5 manga.
I expected it to be wholesome and cute, but it went above and beyond that - especially thanks to our best girl, Kinaho! She is an absolutely amazing female character and her relationship with the kids is only part of it. She has so much depth and humour and wisdom... I'm just in love! She's just really well written and that's rare enough to cherish.
It has also made me respect the mangaka. Although I was surprised to see they mostly write yaoi, now I kind of want to read the prequel story.
