well personally i believe that its not about the person being a child but the "power" the other person has in them; "who is in control" kind of shit. its not attraction of the body but the role the other person is "playing" (we do that in real life 2; there are some people that may be attractive and we know it but we are not attracted to them-thats cause we are looking for certain patterns of behavior)
also, there is a big difference in fiction cause the characters do not look like real people...this is a common concept in mangas; u find urself reading something it wouldnt be likely to read because it is pointed out (by the art) that its not real. another thing that is happening is that the characters are "incomplete"; the mangas do not present the personality of a person only certain behaviors (which do not depict the reality) so the link between the person discribed and a real person is not established.
