....this story is -excuse my danmei term- very crematorium-lite, which means that i quite enjoyed it as a guilty pleasure of mine! i have to say tho, there was a point in time where the raw and the translation were kinda slowing down around the break up arc and i remember obsessively checking one of the raw sites for new updates every day lmaooo, but also because of that i unfortunately kinda lost interest in the story and only finished the whole thing today, and well i enjoyed it!
Also Eden and Hyung were ROBBED of their side story, it's literally their birthright to get in a drama over Eden being a former fuccboi/confused bisexual/tsundere seme (...or a surprise uke? well i guess we'll never know now WTF), and hyung will reject him due to the trauma of his ex bf cheating with a woman and it will be multiple chapters of push and pull, and one of them will inevitably get sick from a fever/drunk out of their mind/just horny and they would inevitably have a smexy time but hyung would STILL reject him for one last time until Eden finally shows his vulnerability and hyung finally relents and they would have another adult time wink wink and Eden will then pick up violin again thus fulfilling his story arc, I can literally envision all of this but i guess i can only visualize this in my own head now hmph
...even after so many years later, I remember even defending Seunghee in this comment section like 3 - 4 years ago maybe lmao. First of all, Kyubin and Seungtaek are a cute couple, but to me they're the sweet appetizer to the main course of the story, and what might be one of my fav bl couples ever, Seunghee and Suhyeok!
I honestly don't know how to explain why I love them so much, but I guess it comes down to the fact that Seunghee is such a flawed and relatable character and seeing him find happiness just feels sooo satisfying, and Suhyeok...he just feels so unique, the fact that he didn't even appear in the story until like chapter 20+ and then gradually developed into the ml of the story? And his sleepy cool prince aesthetic? Perfection.
The time when Suhyeok asked Seunghee to be his bf in the playground? Them making up in the infirmary? them hugging at the beach and comforting each other near the end of the story (possibly my fav bl panel ever)? Aaaahh such a wonderful couple. I still feel giddy reading this manhwa no matter how many times I've read it before, and there'll always be a special place in my heart for it.
WAIT MY BOY GETS A ROMANCE?!? I literally dropped it before because I only liked Seunghee and I was SO MAD they kept dragging him into their drama and using him as a weird scapegoat/therapist (they straight up harassed my boy). If it was me, I would have left because they MESSY ASF (got to keep my peace)
Sorry for the late reply (been really into danmei lately lmao), but in any case if you actually see this reply, YES capital YES, I don't blame you for dropping the manhwa since poor Seunghee got terrorized in the beginning lmao. I don't want to spoil much more but the way Seunghee's story unfolds is really special and I haven't really seen it done in any other bl I've read before or since, totally recommend you to give this one another chance (also don't worry about the ahjussi character he doesn't really matter much in the end)
Your OG comment made me pick this up again and I AM SO GRATEFUL. I loved how his story played out, it touched on so many topics and emotions that I feel a lot of stories tend to overlook (also shout out to the author for not having Seunghee blindly/easily forgive people. I always feel like that's so unrealistic/frustrating in stories- love me a MC with a backbone). Ignoring the 1st couple (I'm petty), this story quickly became one of my favourites. So thanks for commenting, I wouldn't have picked this up again if I hadn't read your review <3
...so that I can talk about this manhwa holy shit. Unironically one of the best depictions of abusive relationship in bl ever? I've been following this manhwa for a year now and it's just like a trainwreck that you can't help but watch in anticipation. I was kinda half wishing that it would end with the breakup chapter but the story progressed into the redemption arc and now I don't really know how the story will end lmao. I'll say that whether they end up together or not the journey has been so interesting and I'm fine either way.
....Yasuda and Naochika's story continues here! I really enjoyed their story on Koubutsu wa Ichiban Saigo ni Hara no Naka and I was really sad that it was so short but I still reread their story from time to time. I also didn't realize that Melo from Kobutsu Ha Kossori Kakushite Hara No Naka is their son and they actually made cameos there lmao.
It's always a pleasant surprise when you see your favorite seemingly one and done couple gets another story and I really love how infatuated Naochika has become toward Yasuda
...the way the main story's ending is juxtaposed with the side story's ending really makes for such a bittersweet ending, realistically sad and feels like the lost innocence of your idealistic youth, but also very mature and hopeful. One of my fav bl of all time. 5/5.
