I kind of don’t get people wishing there wasn’t rape in the beginning of the story?? Because unlike most stories where the uke is raped and the whole thing is just swept under the rug without the seme taking any accountability and the whole thing only happens to make the story seem more “ exciting “ or whatever, the rape that happens here is actually very important for both the plot and the characters. I’m not saying Nakwoon had to rape mokhwa, but for the story to be what it is now he had to commit an extreme act of malice against him and it couldn’t be just beating him up or something like that. The only other way I can possibly think of is if he crippled him maybe? Destroyed someone or something dear to him? But anyway what I mean is if the rape didn’t happen we would not have the same story or the characters we have right now and I can’t lie I wouldn’t change thing about this story.

I understand you’re not justifying the actions, and though you may be taking it somewhat lightly on the surface, I am relieved to see other people can recognise fiction from reality and discuss it that way.
I, for one, was glad to see something like this handled in a more mature fashion and actually have lasting consequences, and especially a portrayal of deep regret.
Was it inherently necessary? No.
Is it still gross to see? Obviously.
But the author made a choice, and I believe they handled it respectfully.

I love when I find people with high critical thinking skills in these sites. You truly understand how the building of a plot works. People nowadays think that stories must be only simple tropes and they forget how telling a story actually looks like.
This story is so properly executed but people reject it only bc it doesn’t fit in their tiny little brains.

This ^^^ I don't know if I've read a yaoi before that has handle sa like this specifically when it's partner commiting it.
Them addressing that what he did was terrible and the ml being remorseful not just shown by his actions but hearing it from him isn't common in this genre.
I agree too that this doesn't erase what he did and honestly makes me think ml is kind of psychotic to do something he would call unforgivable. But it is a new take on the perpetrator behavior afterwards.
I am curious why nakwon did it. Maybe reread would give me an idea or if he really is just a piece of shit.
Mokhwa reaction feels a lot more fleshed out. And I wonder too if Mokhwas background was different would they still be together?
I wonder which one of these two is the bigger freak. Hira for being a freak or koyama for liking him.
