i've read the novel of this and enjoyed it a bit. disclaimer i dont hate love interests in these types of manhwas but poorly written love interests just ruin the whole thing. people who have read the novel know why i prefer the princess. i mean sure, tess was written for arthur but when u read about her as a girl yourself, its hella annoying. won't reveal more since it would a spoiler (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
I am a girl too but I like Tess.. she for God shake is 17 and more mature than any of us.. yeah she is spoiled but she was a princess with everything and everyone pampering her. Tess is the only one that Art will sacrifice everything because he really loves and cares for her. He said himself that around her he let himself to feel like a teenager and he probably have always loved her but was hard to accept because of his mental age. And Art is not someone that will take his promise so lightly, it was hard on him accepting his feelings for her I can't see him doing the same with another girl. And what that will tell us about his character if he so easy let go of his promise to creat a family with her.. Let alone that if Silvy comes back she will not accept anyone else as her momma, she adores Tess. I don't know why people hate on Tess so much she has been through alot and her character is written for Arthur development. Yeah he lost his core but that will give us to see more of him and his new potential..
Kathlyn is my less favorite between Tess, Caera and her..
Again tho that is just my opinion..
Your opinion is super valid! I totally agree on your points of the Tess we currently are reading about. Since Tess is a princess, she acts spoiled and whatnot. Some people really do hate her without reason but I don't.
This isn't hate on Tess but more on the way she is written. Tess could be a great love interest if only the author knew how to write girls well, especially the challenges and realisations Tess goes through as per the novel. After all she goes through in the novel, despite it really life-changing, the author still writes her to be this damsel in distress.
Tess is strong but after going through all that, she is still written all the same. The author didn't try to match Tess' experiences to Tess as a character in terms of personality.
The princess (black haired girl) did change though and was written better than Tess. I didn't mean to hate on Tess herself.
Anyways, you made really good points! I didn't take into account that Tess is a princess too and that might affect her personality. No hate or anything (⌒▽⌒)
I don't know princess character is not my think. Yeah she has development but doesn't much with Art's personally let alone that Art see her as a child. He never considered any of them as love interest..
Caera is strong and I like her vibe but the way Art treats her is like a partner he doesn't get worry for her fighting with him (but he didn't want Tess to get involved) don't forget how he lost it when Tess almost got raped by Lucas.
And if the author make Tess to Cecile and not loving anymore Art I will drop that story.
If Art choose any of the other girls after his confession I will be disappointed and it will make him look like everything he did till now was a joke..
I am all about no romance but from the moment they introduced as a fl then I can't see how to accept his change of heart so easily.. if that confession had never take part then yeah I will have been all about shipping him with multiple characters..
to start, i got the spoilers from reading the novel! its completed and is has the same title as the manhwa. i read the novel at lightnovelpub and the link is here: https://www.lightnovelpub.com/novel/return-of-the-female-knight-22021529
ELENA AND THE PRINCE:
- they met when they were kids, Elena treated the prince like he was a friend and someone special to her, thats why he recognized her when she took her armor off.
- she forgot this meeting but remembers it later after the prince homecoming ball when Elena and Maribelle tour the palace after Elena and the prince gets formally engaged.
- Elena attends a tea party in the capital after the prince homecoming ball. Before they get formally engaged i believe. Rumors spread about Elena being a whore who has men every night (rumor was spread by Lady selby, who is jealous of Elena) and the prince comes and refutes the rumors. He even killed the guy who was supposedly one of Elena nightly men and threw the guys head on the floor during the tea party.
- Elena falls in love with the prince a little later on. The prince already loves Elena but he's waiting for her to be comfortable with him to unleash his love.
- they have a harmonious relationship and have a son later on!
ELENA AND HER FAMILY:
- She and derrick (the older brother) have a good relationship. Derrick is a shy in showing his feelings but Elena understand him and knows how he expresses it. They have a perfectly ideal bro-sis relationship tbh.
- Elena and Mirabelle also have a pretty ideal relationship BUT a character will be introduced soon Khun (i think his name is, i forgot. He's an assassin of the prince) who Mirabelle falls for. They have a pretty uncomfortable relationship since Mirabelle keeps pushing her feelings to him and Khun is a still titled a slave.
(Mirabelle, btw, does not know Khun is an assassin. She thinks hes a commer working in their mansion. But hes their to secretly protect Mirabelle while Elena is now the Crown Princess and lives in the palace.) When Mirabelle finds out that Khun and Elena know each other, she kinda flips out. We get to see her true feelings cause she blamed Elena for stealing Khun and kinda showed her internal jealousy.
HOWEVER, this all resolves later when they all talk it out and we FINALLY see a healthy sister relationship.
- Elena and her father arent on good terms. Her father keeps pressuring her and ordering her to be the perfect lady. It continues up to when Elena gets kidnapped during the fight for the throne, and they patch things up. Turns out Elena looks a lot like the late Countess so he kinda projected on to her as a way to keep the Countess in his heart.
there is A LOT MORE PLOT since there are a lot of conflicts. I really suggest reading the novel!! The translation is good!
MY SWEET MELANIN MAN WHERE ART THOU??
hm, this chapter covers the last half of 36 and the first half of 37. so i guess next chapter, they'll cover only the last half of 37 because it's an important part that adds on to locke's character and all, plus we switch the setting like 3? times in the last half of chap 37 in the novel, so it might even take 2 chapters to cover it all. BUT! alberu makes his appearance in the last half of 38! so it's like.
last half of 38- we see him, he makes his entrance and briefly talks. he also makes eye contact with cale.
39- he converses with taylor, and a few other things. cale and him talk at the end of this chapter too. it's a pretty long chat.
40- the conversation continues.
so in the novel, we constantly meet him through 38-43, so uhh yeah. now if the manhwa is covering 1/2 - 1 whole part of the novel each chapter, and we're at the first half of chapter 37, i can make a guess and say that we'll see alberu in roughly 3-5 chapters!

- the male lead is max! he's the crown prince but juvellian isn't aware of it — she thinks he's a poor commoner who works as a mercenary who her father trains.
- She will later on learn that he is the prince tho, she kinda figured it out on her own.
- the novel's ML and FL are the crown princess and Mikhail, but Mikhail became obsessed with Juvel and the Princess focused on herself.
- the father isn't a prick! He has a tough time communicating because of his long time in wars. he actually loves Juvel a lot. The reason he does some stuff tho is because the father is being controlled by the Emperor through a magic ring.
- Juvel and her father do reconcile but its a little later on when Juvel falls terminally ill and her father gets possessed by the Emperor's magic ring.
thats most of the important parts down so feel free to ask anymore spoilers!! The novel is completed and the full translation is on Wattpad!!
Have fun reading ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
Its a happy ending don't worry! Max and Juvel got engaged (and got married), Juvel and her father got closer and they installed a magic portal in the palace so that Juvel and her father can visit each other any time. (I think they Juvel even gave birth in the special chapters?? i think so)
Mikhail, however, doesn't get a happy ending. He seriously lost his marbles and he does some horrible stuff to Juvel and Max. He was given a chance to kinda get a redemption arc but he chose to take his own life since he can't stand Juvel happy with Max.
hope that answers!! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
see i called it!! even when it was still a promo because he can easily kill his daughter but instead he dragged her and put her in a room where no one could come and kill her unfortunately the princess misunderstood what the duke did and thought that the dagger that the duke gave was for her to kill herself even tho he gave it to her to protect herself ╥﹏╥ i'm glad the duke almost revolted against the emperor, i hope that the duke will be more affectionate to his daughter sksksksk---
in the old timeline he grew to love the princess since she was someone that wasn't like the past Juvel. In the current timeline tho, he becomes obsessed with Juvel coz she stopped being clingy, he also becomes obsessive over the "new" Juvel. Mikhail in the current timelime only used the princess to get closer to the emperor (he wanted to get closer to the emperor so that he could kill the Father and Max with the Emperor's army, to take Juvel away coz he thinks they are brainwashing her or something)
its okay to ask!! the novel is good and having a chat is always lovely(๑•ㅂ•)و✧
suprised to see the book im reading has a manhwa!! i really wanna know if there's some raws? (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

its here!! i think 100 out of the 166 chapters are already translated
actually i think both tess and arthur are in the wrong here. (disclaimer: i don't hate romance in the action/shounen genre. i just don't like poorly written romance and romance interests)
FIRST OF ALL, Tess is right about calling out Arthur on the way he treats his friends as though they are younger than him. Its completely valid and understandable.
HOWEVER, Arthur is also someone who has reincarnated from his 50s to back being a young boy. Its a given to forget about the little things, such as treating his friends as little kids, when their is a lot going on and he hasn't had a long term friend who is the same age as him who can point it out.
Arthur is STILL in the wrong tho since he was kinda being a dick there by deflecting instead of opening up the topic and communicating. He could have instead talked it out and opened up about not seeing Tess (as of that moment) as someone he can be romantically involved with. Kinda stupid of him as an ADULT in a kids body to do that.
SECOND OF ALL, Tess also has a fault. Like I said, they both do. I felt kinda iffy she took the chance when he was injured to kiss him. I also felt a little off that she was ushering him for a response when she legit surprised him. Given, she is a pre-teen who hasn't experienced life like Arthur BUT what if she kissed him and Arthur didn't have feelings about it? What if he legit just experienced his friend kissing him and now he has to think it through?
ON THE OTHER HAND, this is all part of the author's poor thought on the plot. Usually authors try to bring something new on the plot when their is a noticeable repetition (example: its always arthur beating someone up and being super OP and nothing else) so I understand their idea to bring in romance as a way to attract new readers and keep attention.
BUT, Arthur and everyone his age is around 12-14. You're telling me Tess and Arthur start their end-game romance AT THIS AGE?? when they're kids???
I do suggest reading the novel and see how even more poorly constructed the romance is in comparison to the action. Its kinda stupid but anyways, those are my opinions, if there's anything I kinda got off, pls tell me.(▰˘◡˘▰)
