Although this may seem like the usual revenge trope with everything planned out, i would've liked to see it to the end and that's all because the characters are very interesting. They all have substance and depth. One i'm most curious about is Cecilia (the empress of the past life) That scene when she saw FL's painting of her child, seems like she knows something. I'm thinking she may be living her second life as well. Someone pls spoil me. Anyways, seems like we won't be seeing FL's happy ending.

Female lead will have a happy ending.
(Spoilers.)
The ending of the novel is the Grand Duke, Leabrick, Veronica finally being defeated. Elena continues to be L, advocating for an empire with the common people involved. Sian and Elena work together to build a better empire. At the very end, Elena and Sian get engaged, and he made the title of “First Lady” so that she isn’t tied down to the Imperial Palace.

I kinda don't like the fact that they made Trigger gay (out of nowhere) just so he get crossed out as a love interest. If that's the goal, they could've made them treat each other like family or just leave the friendship as it is. FL doesn't need to go doki doki with the opposite sex all the time.
But if the purpose is to make FL comfortable into thinking the archduke was gay, then i guess that's reasonable. But badly written nonetheless.
Either way, i feel like this series just wants to be branded with "we're okay with gays, aren't we good?"

wait, what do you mean out of nowhere? do you mean when he originally told chloe it felt out of nowhere? because she’s known he’s gay for a while since he told her around the beginning of the trip. and it doesn’t feel like trigger was written as gay just so he could be crossed off as a love interest, chloe has come in contact with multiple men throughout the series, especially since right now she’s traveling with a bunch of knights. saying the author only did it to cross him off as a love interest doesn’t seem right because she could easily convey he wouldn’t be a love interest through her storyline. he’s just gay because why not? why not write in a gay character? lgbt characters are allowed to exist as regular people in any kind of story

Mm yes of course they are allowed by all means. It's just that, the writing is kinda awful that it itched me the wrong way.
It felt out of nowhere to me, coz he called her up to talk and confessed he's into guys point blank. Like, there's not even an inkling, or even a tiny foreshadowing that his character would go to that direction.
Now I know that my assumptions above may sound petty, I admit it was written in frustration. Regardless, I'm no that into it.
So what did they do? Dove into the black thing with that huge ass dragon? Poked the eye with the scepter???
So lame tbh where's the intensity?? It's supposed to be something huge to finally save estian coz his character's conflict is being that black monster.
Get a load of this lazy writing
Lazy writing or lazy illustration, take your pick! It might be because they don't exactly know how to draw the contents of the novel or they couldn't understand it. Or the writing just really skipped all that out, either way, how unfortunate. :')
