WHAT- WHAT OTHER THING DID HE DO???!?

Let’s just say his reasons were still selfish. If you wanna know you can google it :) Actually, I was the real one spoilers

Where do we start?

- Voting for Keira's execution and publicly disgracing her as a "fake" child born of adultery all while knew she was his biological child.

- Ignoring his first wife's ("Cosette"' mother) pleas that the 2nd wife family (Keira mother)
were harassing her and she felt scared and wanted to be protected.
They spread nasty rumours about her being "barren" because they wanted the 2nd wife whom they imposed on the Duke to marry to be the sole duchess.

Keira's grandfather is a very callous and scheming man. His household set it up that Rowena (1st wife) would have no protectors and no status by having her entire family The Weinbergs wiped out through either murder or framing them for crimes they were innocent of. So when she was driven out of the house by them in fear for her (and her baby's life) she had nobody since the Duke didn't want to intervene due to his "neutrality" stance and the overbearing Political status of the 2nd wife's family had. Rowena was hunted down by assassins hired by the grandfather who caused her to have a stillborn child she makes a pact with a demon (the one we know as "Cosette" now) to save her baby's life in exchange for hers. She dies but rather than save the baby the demon possess its body instead.

What's shocking about that scenario was the Duke clearly preferred his 1st wife over the 2nd one - its why he istantly warms to "Cosette" and shows her more sympathy yet treated Keira like garbage her entire life. Keira is the spitting image of her mother. Yet the Duke failed to protect his wife and child from the clutches of the 2nd wife's family he knew were targeting her. Due to "neutrality" when really he is just a coward.


- He only helped reverse time because after Keira was executed (with his full support and assistance) serious shit went down in the world. The spirits were angered since Keira was infact the saintess. And his "real" daughter Cosette whom he publicly recognised as his daughter at the expense of having Keira killed turned out to be a Demon (the one that 1st wife made a contract with) and unleashed a demon army onto the world.
After all these events occurred everyone blamed the Duke, for having Keira executed and believing that Cosette was his daughter.

He reverses time merely to save face not out of guilt or shame for what he did to Keira.

WTHHH WHAT A BITCH ASS DAD- I FELT A LITTLE BAD THAT HE WAS BEING A LIL IGNORED FOR SOME REASON BUT NVM HE FULL ON DESERVES IT FUCK HIM. But thank you for telling me LMAO

I am making sure as many people know what a shitbag he is.

The real twist in all this is that "Cosette" was never the real villain just a symptom caused by the actions of others.

The main villain was the Duke and the second grandfather who schemed for his daughter to be sole Duchess of Parvis by destroying the life of the first wife, killing her children and wiping out her entire bloodline - The Weinbergs by framing them for crimes they did not commit. However, alteast the evil gramps shows atleast some affinity and loyalty towards his kin. Unlike the shitbag duke he failed to protect the wife he cared for.

Tbh, i prefer her taking a completely different route and not the ML as a her... Like be the greatest perfumer and travelling the world to find exquisite fragnances, develop synthetic fragrances.... and meet a new ML somewhere along her travels

And ML and MC chem is kinda bland to me.. So please..

It should be obvious that what you’re imagining won’t ever happen. The male lead is Cedric. He’s on the manwha cover, the novel cover, and he’s even referred to in the title.

Omg I love how much we click! The ml and mc also does seem kind of bland to me as well, I hate the whole “we were in a contractual relationship that one hated but now I actually love you” trope! But ofc they’re not gonna give us another ml but instead try to build up cedric and ariel’s chemistry. (Btw I also kind of ship her with Charlotte, they look so hot together ^_^)

True!!! Any other character that vibes with MC well will fit her better..
But, yeah... We are stuck up with this love to hate one.. And at this rate.. I remember duchess with 50 tea recipes with this one

That manwha is good, though!

I am saying it is bad either too . I like reading it too, but the story overall is just in good rating.
It is just this has some same plot clutches.
