The beginning felt quite trope-y but I’m glad I continued reading it! Also did anyone else notice the art style switch from chapter one? Maybe it was just to lure new readers in or a promotion *shrug*
I hope this series ends without getting caught up in a billion subplots with no point and doesn’t drag it out until it becomes boring like a lot of the webcomics on here have been like recently. I guess it’s becoming a style cause they want people to buy more chapters :

Its set in “fictional” china, unless there was some translation error they specify that in ch.1(the empress mentions she doesn't remember learning of the specific dynasty during Chinese history class) I think the names are korean because the author is korean and didn't put much thought into it.
