Don't get me wrong. He was complicit and never cared until she was gone and now she isn't part of the family in his mind but just a "background character" (could be his mind showing that she isn't actually part of the family and won't be, even if he wants her to), but he has been reflective and is starting to understand just how badly they fvcked up. That's a pretty good start. It's also great that he wants to go the extra mile (hur hur, pun not intended but appreciated) and visit her, to reconnect. He still is showing his old behavior (ignoring her autonomy and "forcing" the return on her), but no one should expect a perfect 180° sprint to the finish line right from the start. Especially if you see how his parents still behave.
I hope that those two actually reconnect, because Karina deserves a family member that tries and the father gets slapped by reality
Ahhhh. That feels way too good.
Also what a dick to assume that Chloe will be in "the depths of hell". That's your destination my dude. Down the pole you go, while she gets the stairs
He doesn't assume that tho, in the chapter he considers offing himself to join her but realises he wouldn't be able to, because he'll go to hell while she's in heaven (his thoughts)
learn how to read lmao
calm down lol
