He left in the first place because May thought Jooin took off his collar because he didn’t love or want him. (That was the reason he though Jooin took him, because he loved May.) He came back after realizing that Jooin was looking for him, (This means he wants and love May) He came back and Jooin said I was waiting for you because in the story without the collar the cat still came back to jooin, because the cat loves jooin. I don’t know why people don’t understand the story, I guess you really have to remember stuff and realize things, so yeah that’s why he came back.
