Dang I regret that I took so long to start reading this because its so good but I'm also glad I could binge so many great arcs and can enjoy the cooling down.
I actually like Tess and her development, if yall remember how he found her and her original personality and reason for it, it is a great development that she is building confidence in herself and having Art face the facts too.
I'm not ready for romance in this one because it keeps nudging me that they are all 12-13 but they've almost all faced a TON of life experience comparable to an adult. Right now it's good to keep a distance as classmates and enjoy the other plot developments, I do love Tessa over all the other girls tho.
Also Lucas, ugh. He was annoying sure and I disliked him but when he pulled that stunt in the Dungeon I just can't stand him. Even if they show his backstory he will still be despised
Aww the translation quality feels like it suddenly got lower after the chapter 50s

I like this series though, cause he didn't just reincarnate and start over or went back in time and suddenly became OP
Like he has ties all around in high positions that he has gained and created for millions of years.
The FL too, she might seem weak and too kind but she has her principles and the fact that she is trying to accept the MC and have him accept her without her memories or skills of her previous makes her really likeable. I just hope they don't drag her getting stronger too much
I gotta say the pacing of the whole series has been pretty good. Especially as a Chinese Manhua.
The FL is a badass, the prince isn't dumb and completely adores her, her song is intelligent and freaking adorable. (her letting him skip school to go fishing with her was the best!)
I love the lustful princess she was a great comic relief during the wine testing and the competition
The small substories have also been good.
I'm glad we only got to the family drama after we grew fond of the main characters and got to know them.
That a good eye opening moment for both Furuya and Eijun (very Shounen Ai but I don't hate it ( ̄∇ ̄")). Especially Eijun, if you think about it he was very in the moment type of recklessness before and had gradually matured, getting this eye opening on his turning point as a pitcher is a good transition for further development.
Also, I think it's interesting how the first year's are pretty attached to Sawamura in their own ways and seeing him grow like this must be inspiring to them as well. It makes me curious to see how they will support him as a third year, specially wolf boy.
I feel like the first story's ending was too rushed. I liked the couple and the side characters were good too, I kinda wanted to see the FL journey in gaining her confidence and incubus' process of turning human.
Meanwhile the second story seems dragged, I like the idea of the dynamic but the FL seems too superficial to me. And it's also a bit more on the rape side.... but then again it's about incubi and succubi, so idk if I can really judge it on that aspect.
The hypnosis only triggers their biggest desires without the other person realizing it, it doesn't make them crave the person if they didn't want them (from what I understood)
In the first one, the FL admitted liking the ML by the time they started having physical sex. It's not that she didn't want it, she was just feeling uncomfortable at the thought of being controlled in when they would have sex.
While in the second one, the succubi even used the hypnosis trigger in the dreams and it just feels like the human was more forced because of how obssesive the succubi is irl and is essentially throwing himself at him while they put a cover over it with her confidence and her being older...?
Mentally, even if I switched the gender roles on either story, the second one just isn't my cup of tea. Idk if that made sense.
I understand it not being your cup of tea; however, the second one is quite obviously less rapey than the first one.
While the hypnosis does help a person realize their desires, if not under it then the first couple would not have had sex when they did. It is still a form of mind control.
Whereas the second couple has only been the equivalent of intense wet dreams. The dreams don't seem forced at all as they simply start out as seduction. The recent one was more forced with the train groping and then hypnosis (which I don't condone). Later in the dream tho, Hyeseong's eyes went back to normal so it wore off and he continued on his on.
All in all that was still a dream and Taeyi has backed off irl and has not been throwing herself at him for a while. She hss not touched him sexually irl. They had a consensual kiss but we're both fully conscious and I believe Hyeseong initiated.
The first story, the first time they had sex was basically coerced with the use of hypnosis. The FL was ok with it. (Mainly because she did like him but also her memories were hazy about details after) but when she learned that he was hypnotizing her she was disturbed and avoided him.
And in the event of switching the genders, nothing changes. The situations are still the same. One was irl coercion, the other was in a dream. Personally, I'd rather be coerced in a dream than irl.
I'm glad that even with all the girls approaching and his arrogance he is still loyal to his waifu.
Also, it was good to see him actually kill the president's family and not spare them just because of the girl and he felt bad, they were 100% in the wrong and deserved to die.
The way the president just spout she hates the MC because he rejected her made her hating him for her family's annihilation kinda dull.
Meng'er will hopefully also be turned down.
And I'm kinda excited about his family affairs, I think that will be an interesting arc
Oh my goodness that tension buildup for the ML from sneaking at night to see her but not confronting her.
This is such a cliffhanger, leaves so many questions, how will the MC's dad and brother respond? how will Dion react when he sees the cat's put of the bag and the ML will start interfering between him and Roxy? What plan does Roxy have to explain Cassis' "death"? How does the 'heroine' feel about Roxy? What is Cassis's plan in saving Roxy??
... Is there a novel for this!??!
Edit: I'm not asking to be spoiled, just expressing my excitement ( ̄∇ ̄")
I only made it to ch 100 (further than my first read) ...it was exhausting and not even the iffy translations but the plot and scenes themselves were.
I've read so many return to the past/cultivation 100+ chapter Manhuas with bad translations, harems and all but this one beats them all with the one-dimensional characters and unfound plot... It's just that bad... Even the reason he went back didn't make sense. He never mentions his past and the cultivation system hasn't really been explained...
I'll prob come back to it when and if I'm desperately procrastinating lol
