honestly, he could’ve just BEEN older. there’s no real reason for him to be freshly 20 because the dynamic would’ve been relatively the same if he had been, say, 24 instead of 20. i think he could’ve at least completed his military service, since that would’ve bridged the gap a little, but there would still be a vibe of being in different age groups. Just without the weird and uncomfortable feeling that he is unfathomably immature compared to his boss. i was interested by the fact that he chose to go straight into the workforce instead of continuing his studies, which i presume is why he’s 20 (about a year out of highschool), but i don’t think it would’ve taken away from that too much to have him be a little older. basically, there are a lot of ways that they could’ve approached this without the boss seeming like kind of a creep for accepting the ml’s advances. “but i’m concerned for you, you’re just an innocent kid! …ah, whatever, just get in my ass…” is kind of. ummmm. like you couldn’t even make him wait? IMAGINE how much more depth this could’ve had if mc told him a firm no because he was too young, and then there was a timeskip or something to after jiwoo came back from the military, now older and more mature. it could’ve been a slow burn where jiwoo proved himself over time, gained experience with others, etc. leaving more room for mc to have his dilemma (oh no, he isn’t a kid at all!!!), rather than just turning around and changing his mind when literally nothing about the situation changed at all. like, were you really concerned about him if you were just gonna go back on your word anyways??? it’s just boring
