I hope the upcoming chapters won't be as horrible, as we all fear they may be. I highly doubt NK is gonna die, since we have several enemies that need to be dealt with. I also don't think he will get raped.. I have a feeling that the assassin may not allow it..

Jihwa is just the first enemy, and therefore probably the easiest to win against.. or in this case to win over, so he + Nameless can become allies in the future... if Jihwa is to become a likeable character in the future (which he probably will, seeing that he will probably end up with Nameless), he needs to redeem himself. I think - and wish - Nakyum will save himself by simply arguing with Jihwa, meanwhile SH will think that NK dumped him, and this will also be reflection time for SH to think about the things he did to NK and his servants..

Once NK returns to SH, it will be time for the next enemy, the father, to show up, as he has probably heard about SH's interaction with Jihwa at the parlor.. the third enemy, who is still weak at the moment, but can grow to become a powerful one, is the teacher, when he becomes a strong figure in the government..

And let's not forget Min and Lord Song. Those two are bad news as well.

    Sugarcube November 9, 2020 11:17 pm

Yeah but I don't think those two will act on their own. They have joined forces with the other enemies.. Lord Song with the father, Min with Jihwa and perhaps with the teacher too later? Omg, I just realised that Min and the teacher with their horrible personalities would suit each other perfectly as a pair (≧∀≦)

I notice a lot of you are writing that you think SH was raped by his father (or some other older men), but why would the father do that? We can see in the new chapter that SH had some bruises, so he was abused. However it's too soon to conclude it's due to rape. For now I think he was beaten/tortured and perhaps held captive.

I know SH can't stand bearded men, and the father is very homophobic, who wants to 'cure' his son's homosexuality... but why would he let his son get raped by men? Wouldn't it make more sense, if the father forced SH to take medicine that boosts ying energy (fx something similar to testosterone booster/viagra, if it existed at the time) and then force him to have sex with women to try and 'awaken' SH's desire for women??

I know gays in the USA were forced to take testosterone during WW2 and the Cold War, as they thought that gay men were too feminine (yang energy) and must be in need of testosterone to become masculine/straight. However the plan failed, as this increased their sexual libido, which resulted in the men having even more sex with other men.. since testosterone increased sexual libido, then they assumed that oestrogen must have a different effect - and it did, but it also had other effects that ruined their mental health. Perhaps this is where the author has found some inspiration from? Although I may be interpreting the webtoon too much from a Western perspective and history..

No, that's actually a really interesting theory! Thanks for that! I do agree with you on the abuse, torture and all other things. It doesn't seem plausible that the father would force himself on his son, that wouldn't make sense. He'd rather treat him with disgust and try to "cure" him, with countless tortures and resulting in Seungho's ruined childhood and teen years. Hence, we have Seungho who's not adapted emotionally to live a normal life amd handle strong emotions and relationships

What I think is...after this chapter... In addition to my own assumptions is....the father might try to cure him in the beginning, as he is still the oldest son, they still want him to take over the family's name.
But then the noble's purge happened. The father might have given up on SH at that point. There's this Lord Song mentioned as well, so maybe in order to not be purged, the price to pay is to bribe Lord Song, and Lord Song is a pedo or something... Idk. So SH father would say, if you are so useless by being gay, mught as well help your family by sleeping with those in power to save the family's ass. That is what I imagined went down.
Then SH desperate to please his father, agreed even tho he is in pain, and in the end after he went through all that to get his top knot cut off and became a scapegoat for his family. Cause his family escape the town leaving him in his mansion, which means if anyone from the family is assassinated it will be SH.
That is why 2 chapters ago SH says, he feels like he went back to that time long ago, when nakyum is always looking at other people and not him. I think he rmbs how his father always chose his brother and not him.
    What do you think?

Thank you. I've seen many comments - even when earlier chapters got updated - from people who believe SH was raped, and I always felt they concluded a bit too fast, so I always wondered if I may have missed some details or something ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I think it is too soon to speculate who Lord Song is and what his role was earlier, as we barely have any information about him for now. Any theory that we come up with can seem plausible for now, as we don't really know anything about him yet. Although he seems important to the plot now, seeing how much SH hurried to punish Jihwa for pretending to be him.

But I do agree that the father must have given up on his son and used him as a scapegoat during the purge. The father may have forced SH to sleep with someone, but he may also have done something else to him.

I really like your point about Nakyum and the brother. I completely forgot about his father favourising the brother, and that SH may feel NK is doing the same now. The plot is thick in this one!

Glad you liked it, but I'm not sure, if he is addicted to sex. I think he is only doing it as revenge against his father, since he in the beginning couldn't get an erection without special medicine or a bj... well, until he met NK.

It is odd that someone as young and in good shape as SH would have trouble getting hard + the doctor explained his illness was psychological. His body should therefore be healthy, and the reason for why he cannot get hard must be purely psychological, i.e. due to his mental health problems caused by past trauma.

When SH started getting attracted to NK and NK's pure way of loving someone - representing everything he never had, but needed - it calmed his mind, as he finally found what he had subconsciously been looking for and could now get an erection on his own.
