I usually try to be non biased or not care too much but I absolutely can't stand this seme :/// he's literally being so mean and rude to the uke even though he didn't even do anything?? It's the seme's fathers fault for not being there for him and acting like a real parent... hopefully there's room for development.... but honestly feel so sad for the uke:((

Kinda a stupid question but I'm just curious, how does the adoption thing work in Japan? Does one partner adopt the other? Or do they adopt a child together? What exactly happens? Sorry if this is coming out wrong, just wanted to know! Thank you!

Every family in Japan has a family registry (koseki) that lists all the members in the family and each persons info. If someone is married, one partner moves their name into the other partners family registry and takes the surname. If they have a kid, their information is added—name, birth date, etc.

Adoption In Japan is pretty much putting someone’s name in your family registry, giving the adoptee your last name and legally recognizing them as kin.

Oo okay that makes sense! Thank you so much!

It’s basically one person adopting their partner for mutual legal benefit from the “parent-child” relationship : same family name / inheritance / i believe social security.. stuff like that

i understand it as the older person would legally adopt the younger partner so their relationship is legally protected so theyre like "siblings" in the family registry i hope this helps! <33 (this is just my understanding, i could still be wrong tho!)
