Well, think about it like this. A famous comedian became a famous horror director, look up the director of NOPE. In this case, someone who writes about dark topics can easily write about light issues and vice versa.

I forget the name of it, but there is a really cute JP bl about an introverted guy who likes octopi falling for a popular kid and doing his best to make friends and hopefully more. Now the same author also did a supernatural thriller where the main character cause his tops to become murderous pyschos so they kill him/commit die onto themselves in a neverending cycle of torment. ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
