OK in regards to like its world, made in abyss is the most similar thing i can think of.

- both are adventure stories where mc descends in to unfamiliar territories with a small party
- both center symbiotic relationships between organisms, taxonomy, and how the environment came to be the way it is ect.
- both have "magical" elements incorporated in a really natural way
- in general i think the world building in made in abyss is on par with or even better than dungeon meshi

HOWEVER
there are parts that are straight loli/shota fetish porn with 12 year olds like we need to lock the author up. ig you think you can stomach it go ahead, oh and theres also an anime which is slightly more tame on the fetish stuff like i couldn't stomach the manga i had to watch yhe anime LMAO
