I love the ending, others may disagree but its a very realistic ending. If carrie joined george, she would just rely on him. i mean she could become a model there to but you have to think of multiple possibilities why it wouldnt work out. And considering theyve just met in a monthish(i actually dont know but i think its been a month) it rlly wont work. For me love takes time, in love you have to make sacrifices, anything other than that is infatuation. Thats kinda why I prefer friends to lovers^^

The first emperor’s and empress’s backstory is just confusing and not rlly my my cup of tes, ranon wants power and is lustful towards anya, anya is a fool and just a naive girl, both of them aren’t good parents… which lead to their children’s demise…or maybe im just wrong. Then again the whole story is so confusing to me, i didn’t understand a thing
I agree, the backstory of the first emperor and empress is just way too much angst for me and way more complicated than the main couples story. I feel like it should have been made as a prequel separate from this main story. Then the author could write as much chapters as they want for the empress and emperor whilst not convoluting the main story and while being able to freely have their story as their own “main story” rather than a side story. We already knew there was bad blood between the empress and ranon before their side story and all of it could have been summarized in a fairytale-esque manner in a single chapter tbh. Im just waiting to finally get back to the present day timeline.

On the romance front, it's quite slow for good reason. I would hate it if the MC jumped into his arms and forgave him so soon after him misunderstanding on his own and being a major dick.
On the politics front, it's quite a good pace, I would say.
But the thing is the misunderstanding has been so long and i rlly dont want them to be together(i dont like the ml that much) but the misunderstanding hasnt been cleared yet and its driving me insane what i want is after the misunderstanding been cleared, mc wont be talking to ml for a while and just ignore the ml i dont like this type of plot where it takes so slow to clear one thing due to miscommunication.

I’ve read many MANY slowburns and the whole point is to continually built tension the entire time, this webtoon already feels like it hit its peak before the reveal and now it’s just back to the misunderstanding plot line we just went thru in the first half, it just feels like a chore to read at this point because the plot dragging is so bad, astiel’s father does the same shit every chapter so I no longer care what he plotting
