I really despise the fact that Eclis betrayed Penelope but I can't fully hate him.
Looking at his (Eclis) point of view, having to find that variable (aka Yvonne) to break free Penelope from the Eckart household was the only choice he saw. Knowing that Penelope can't just leave the family in a whim, he find that it would be the pushing point to return the 'original' daughter to pave a way for her to leave them. The things that he didn't consider are Pen's feelings and how that action would affect her. Why can't he see it? Because he is too blinded to cut the connection between the Eckart family and Penelope. He wants for her to be happy and I guess to be with her. He thought that it would make his master happy, but alas he acted contradictory to Penelope's plan.
I can't really blame him since he did not know the plan of Penelope. That guy is getting impatient since his master is moving multiple steps away from him despite the advances she made, so he made an action for himself. Poor guy just wanting to be praised but got abandoned.

i think it's right to say that right now ecklis is too obsessed w/penelope to the point he's so impatient and only think 'how can i get her to myself now?' maybe it's, too, was due to the persuasion of yvonne because i remember reading the spoiler that said yvone is the reason why ecklis betrayed penelope, making him afraid penelope will abandon him, and so the feelings of obsession that already there now grow bigger

If it wasn't for the trope (I need you, please comeback to me even if I was a jerk trope), I would probably drop this. The ML gives me the FULL ICK ಠ,_」ಠ I've read a fair share of stories involving walking red flags but this guy just emits more of it. I get that it's your 'wife' but that doesn't mean that you are entitled to be her husband once again. And his advances to the FL? Unbelievable.
In addition, the way he used his brother? I mean, yeah sure it's given that most historical fiction has that kind of scenario but bro it's been a while since you get to see your brother (bcs of the cross-dimension and the psycho allegations). I thought that you're going to reunite and bond with him (´;ω;`). I felt really sad. BUT I'm kinda looking forward for the lil bro revenge arc (if there is, I hope there is) especially since he is kind of drawn to the FL and now hurt with his brother (aka ML).
I know that the ML had been hurt (betrayal and confinement**) which altered his personality (cause that's how I see it), however, is it wrong to think that I want to make him more hurt than he has been? (๑´•. • `๑)
** confinement since he has been stuck in Korea in his previous life (before the turn back time thing) not being able to go back to his hometown because of the saintess.

Why do they always leave someone important?! Like I know that he's trap or whatever. BUT what if he escaped? That ML could've been with the mage or brought the mage with them. This is so frustrating!!!! And why did they trust that old fart's words?? Like the FL already saw it coming but still continued.
I know I'm not in a place to say this but yeah, that's how I felt ┗( T﹏T )┛
