I noticed it was weird when I first read it it just skip to him asking her to sleep with him but they were on the way to the party before but I thought it was how it was written.. but after reading it the second time it kinda annoyed me so I tried searching it on other site and I found the full one
i thought the story was normal because most of harlequins are fast-paced short stories, so i didn't mind the gap. also some stories doesn't make sense. hahahaha. again, Thank you for sharing.

Stupid very stupid. I think he deserve a little for guilt I like it when the male leads figure out they were wrong and feel super guilty. I wish he had to do a lot more than go to her college to bring her back. I wish she ignored him for awhile and he had to put in effort to earn her love back because he got off way too easy for all the horrible things he said and did.
Is no one going to question that he went full kiss mode when he though she was his little sister. Like I get if he had hugged her or kissed her cheeks but he full on kissed her on the lips. Who does that to a sister. And she is 27 but in the pics when it says she raised her sisters until they got married it looked like they were far in age. And she is only 27 how the hell did he mistake her for and elder and married her??.?
You got it. If I had slipped my sister the tongue (sorry to be so crude, but that's what was suggested in the story), she would have slapped me into the middle of next week, and, while probably not informing my parents (she's a year and a half older than me) our relationship would have changed drastically. We are now in our 60's and I sometimes pick her up off the ground and whirl her around, I've never even been close to what went on in this story. Kissing on the cheek is plenty for us, and we're regarded as pretty high on the skinship level for Americans. I'm also married (for nearly forty years) and we all seem to regard this as pretty normal.

I like the story setting but how she was treat was unfair. She was always the one being blamed. Just because she was a virgin he basically ran out on her and blamed her and because things didn’t go well her friend Gavin basically called her a coward. Like what could she have done he was the one getting all mad and ran out for no reason. Then after they sleep together she got up and got ready to go to school I’m the morning and again it’s her fault? Wtf is he a freaking child? Grow a pair she is an independent women. It is not like she sleep with him and leave him forever she is going to school and coming back. What does he want another round in the morning? He seriously got mad at her because she didn’t stay in bed with him in the morning. What. Freaking child and she has to be the one who apologized. He doesn’t even care about her feelings it’s like he wanted to own her. And when the gossip column wrote hurtful thing he didn’t even cheer her up he just said she should have been ready. And he even said this time he won’t apologized like he’ll he never freaking apologize she is always the one caving in to his childish needs. I don’t like him as a couple he doesn’t even who what he did wrong she is the only one giving up everything and didn’t sacrifice anything for her. He does not deserve her at all. I want her to be the strong independent women again I feel like being with him was toxic
Seriously in other harlequin comics the couple get separated for years, that is what this couple needs. She need to strive and succeed in her career and he need to grow the hell up. That way he won’t whine and become a unsecured pompous jerk.and she won’t feel she don’t belong because she is just a student. The manga should have split them up for like a year or two when she goes to her parents and then have him come and apologize I feel like he is taken back way to easy I thought she was supposed to be smart. He was childish since the beginning
You really hit the nail on the head. The ML acted like a spoiled toddler throughout the story. There was a definite imbalance of power in the relationship, and he was the one with the money and power. As the more powerful member of the couple, he should have thought about protecting her, yet he only thought of himself the whole time. Absolutely no empathy when she was slut-shamed, yet he was butthurt over nearly everything. And her "friend" would have had her sleep with the garbageman if he could improve his networking. Couple of royal dirtbags.
Why is everyone blaming Erin? That is double standard. Almost every male character in the harlequin novels would hide who he is and plays around but they aren’t being treated like a villain. Only defended because “they had a bad past” or “they are rich”. She did the same she hid her identity because she didn’t not want to be treated differently and be drag into his world. And what she started going out with him not expecting it to go no where, her thinking is normal. He is a player not like he was planning to fall in love and marry her in the beginning as well. Like every other guy in harlequin mangas the guy starts off as a playboy who only wants one night or a mistress. He is worse than her. She she did not intentionally hid her Identity. He misunderstood she was a teacher and not really off she helps her aunt he know that. She just never said outwardly that she is a famous children author. I mean if she said that in the beginning you guys would say she is cocky and the male lead would think so too. And how would she know he has women issues. He is a dick trying to control her and acts like she is his property. And if the male leads can get a free pass on their bad habits due to their past so should she. Other men probably tried to control her, make her stop writing and sit at home to be a housewife, date her for her fame/money and she had a miscarriage before which is why she didn’t tell him. Imagine how much pain she is going through. And he blamed her for nothing. He felt that way because she was famous as well and felt insecure she is successful. She is a strong independent women who can take care of her self. She did not want him to shower her with expensive clothes and jewels like she is his dress up doll. And his does have a cold ruthless personality to his enemy and he states he would fight for his child with everything he has. She could also be scared he would take away her baby because he was angry with her. When he found out she was pregnant and automatically said it was a scheme Ipa didn’t she was the evil women, and if she had told he would say the same thing saying she wants his money. Even though she told the truth many times he is the one who can’t get over is ego and trust her. I’m not hating on him he is better than other men in the harlequin comics but I hate the double standard in these comments. If you hate on her for her short comings then don’t paint his as an angel. They both have faults but they worked through it.
Oh about the child and age thing she could have started writing in her teens I mean most teens writes stories a lot too now a days maybe even younger like in middle school. And when he said he was a child he could have been in high school or in his teens as well they are still considered a child. And it was his mom collecting not to read to him as a bedtime story but for her amusement so it does not mean technically that she has to be a lot older than him. He is five years older.
Theophania, I really loved your take on this. The only thing I have to add to your summing up (aside from the fact that the ML is a walking, talking illustration of Georgette Heyer's epithet "Twiddle-poop") is that Erin has a fleshed-out character; she's pretty 3-dimensional, while Peter (I wonder if he was named as a Freudian Slip by the author) was so shallow, character-wise, as to be little more than a stereotype. It's as though he's an AI macho reaction machine. His reaction to the little boy and his desperate father was understandable, but when we've seen more of him, it's as though someone had pushed the "Father's Rights" button on his AI console. He finds out from his mother that his one night stand is a children's author. (Sentient Human Reaction: "Wow, Honey. That's really cool! Why didn't you tell me?) Peter Reaction: Life has just pushed his "Butthurt Button," How dare you deceive me, you are a liar like all women. He finds out she's pregnant (after some gentle/subtle stalking). Life pushes his Father's Rights, Butthurt, and All Women Are Liars Buttons all at once and he starts threatening her over "my," not our, baby. Any woman worth her salt would immediately start legal proceedings, starting with a restraining order. His billionaire status (and ability to retain multiple celebrity lawyers) is somewhat offset by her celebrity status and her more than respectable job. The publicity would be ghastly, but (with her publishing company behind her) they could ruin his reputation. She should do anything and everything short of murder to keep this creep out of her and the baby's life. Can any woman imagine being shackled to a cliche generator for life with equanimity?
Did she give up her career too cruel! Why does she have to give up her career which she obviously loves. He is one of the best surgeon why cant he move hospitals? Why does the women have to be the one sacrificing her life? Don’t tell me she going to be a house wife who only stays home and knit like he wants. Or she could find a job there she has talent so she could thrive anywhere I wish the ending explains that.
And I don’t like the guy in this as much he was a coward the whole time it’s always her voting against her ideals and pride and he kept turning her down half heartedly too. She already to the first step and the second and the third but he just wallows in self pity and his stupid ideals. She is my Queen through and through. She is a strong independent women who don’t let things faze her, not naively stupid or a bimbo, smart, hardworking, and fights for what she wants even if it gives her heart break. There’s no way she would give up her career, in my opinion, I think she’s gonna do what she said when she visited mls house, she’s gonna look for a career there. I mean she might have given up her current career but there’s no law that says u can’t start over, at least that’s what I think. If she truly is able to get what she wants then an ambitious person like her won’t just give up because of a new change in her life.

I think Lucy and nick pisses me off more than anything!! In all of the books in this series Nick was a scheming disgusting jerk. He keeps getting off easy he should have gotten put in jail for life, maybe get beaten or killed off!!! He sabotage Carly life by spreading false rumors about her to Ricardo while stealing money and forging their signatures, set up bogus sex parties and tarnish their company name, tries to rape Julia multiple times, even went as far as drugging her to put her in an AV video of her being raped,almost killing her, and now threatening Lucy and almost killing Marcus . Lucy is a Selfish idiot. Even though she know how bad nick was she freaking turn blind eyed and almost destroyed everyone’s life because she thought Marcus would rejected her. When in all three books he was the one protecting her. She didn’t even have the guts to confess and one sided blamed him for everything. If she wanted him to treat her as an adult she shouldn’t going around making dumb mistakes and throwing child tantrums. She is a walking disaster I swear Marcus deserve better. This is probably the first time I hated the female leads so much in the harlequin stories. She has no great qualities.
She does have the distinction of being a biological phenomenon. A box of rocks that can walk and talk.
I love that she got so confident in her self and her make over was not only for some guy. I love her make over, in some harlequin comics makeover somehow makes the girl uglier but in this one she looks so pretty. I also like that he did not fall for right away after her looks change. He fell for her new outgoing perspective and things he didn’t know about her because she was to shy and timid to show. And he did not get mad at the end when he found out he was Mister X, he admits his wrongdoings and accepts why she did it, it also show he loves her to the point he understood her actions and didn’t not throw a hissy fit like the other harlequin male leads. My favorite part is the fact that the story is realistic I mean they got together but did not get engage until ten months later it wasn’t like a day later and they suddenly get married, no. They got engage not married after 10 months Seriously all the other mangas having them marry like right after they get together. She made him earn her trust and love back in that 10 months Go Girl!! Only then he was sure he loved her.
