Ines planned it, BUT that woman who pretends to be Ines is mentally ill, I swear. She married a navyman ONLY to get near Carcel. The area where Carcel & Ines live is exclusively for the navy and their people. If Carcel were to leave the navy, they have to move out too. That’s just how exclusive their residence is and how obsessed she is towards him.
As a person who grew up lacking with love, I’d honestly fall for Matthias despite of his shitty behavior. The feeling to be longed for though his love is twisted, I’d have accepted it too in real life :”)
Honestly, after I read the novel, after Matthias realize how bad he had treated her & make up for it, I’d say he’s one of the best male lead with a great character development.
how is it that no one talks about how bad her communication skill is for someone so clever? she threw punches like bringing up how much wealth is given when ml is jealous, then asked how he did not cry and put the blame on him when he was with her the entire time? i mean, yes, she could be mad, but mostly directed to something else?
has the story not shown how she had to suck it up and be reserved her whole life just to make her father acknowledge her? not everyone can be suddenly good at communicating. just because she's clever doesn't mean she would automatically understand ml's feelings.
That’s selfish. He also tried his best. Just because she held in because of her father, it shouldn’t have been directed to anyone who tried their best for her. But well, it makes her an actual person at least.
I get it, it's totally valid because I was annoyed at FL because of the same reason when I first read this too. And yeah, it does make her human and it kinda adds spice to the story. It'd be a bit boring if they can solve their communication issues easily like Rosalyn never went through any trauma.
