Yeah, I'm gonna defend Taeho. He's not dumb. He's a man who lacks self-confidence, which causes him to be incredibly insecure, and is easily taken advantage of because he has no experience dealing with people with evil intentions. He didn't know he'd been set-up before by Choi to be targeted by Dongyeon so he had no reason to believe that Choi would harm him. The only thing he did know is that Choi is desperately in love with Seojun, who violently rejected him and pushed him down in public. The reader knows Seojun's actions are justified, but Taeho sympathizes with Choi and sees it as unnecessarily cruel.
Not that this is by any means a deep story. It's heavily clichéd smut, but I think the mc is getting a bad rap.
Also, a reluctant Dongyeon suddenly growing a "conscious" but saying he'll lube Taeho up so it doesn't hurt when rapes him, makes him a bigger piece of shit than Choi.
