We have Ikuro, Ranzo, Sachiko, and stupid Norihiko.
Ikuro our protagonist grew up neglected by his father and abused by his mother, his father was always spending his time in the "dungeon" where someone "like a mantis" or monster was kept being hidden; and his mother got sick in the head bc of that.
Fast forward in the present, mother died followed by the father. Now Ikuro discovers that "the monster" locked up in the hidden room behind their house is his older brother which he just found out he had one. This brother got everything in the inheritance left by their father (according to the will) and nothing was left for Ikuro.
Norihiko, this stupid fucker was a long time servant in the Tōma's house even before Ikuro was born. I don't know what's his deal but it seems like he also slept with Ikuro's mother before, and now he groomed Ikuro up to adulthood to be his "toilet" and plaything.
Norihiko basically manipulates Ikuro since Ikuro has somewhat experiences a not so happy childhood; traumatized by his mother so he is afraid of women, hates his family(and his brother more so), and he has daddy issues (like mental or something because of what he witnessed when he was a child).
So flashback to what really happened to Ranzō, so far what the story showed us was that Ranzō loved his brother Ikuro even before and that's the last memory he has before he went ill. He was choked to dead by Ikuro's mother (because of jealousy), but miraculously survived but his mentality remained as a child since then. He was unable to speak as he was locked up by the father after the incident (not sure if he was also molested by the father ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ ).
And for sure this is the reason why the father's will was to only give the inheritance to Ranzo and his children and nothing for Ikuro.
Now we are just waiting what will happen as Sachiko (Ikuro's arranged wife) decides to teach Ranzō to speak so he can aid Ikuro; bc as we can see Norihiko is basically ruining the Tōma family and having old boomers rape Ikuro and arrange everything in the company(not sure if he has grudges or what).
This is the first time that I was actually disgusted by the seme like dafuc dude just die and let Ikuro live happily ever after with Ranzō and Sachiko. #-.-)

That "caretaker" is also disgusting, trying to convince himself that he's altruistic when he's clearly not.
I don't even want to talk about the parents, because I would throw up all the way to Madagascar.
Since the first time Iida (Ikuro's university classmate) appeared, I shipped them so hard. He seems like he would really try to cherish Ikuro and like a good guy overall.
Sachiko, my girl, my wife, my new icon. She's like a light in the darkness that this manga is, like a fresh breeze. I. Love. Her.
And lastly the brothers. Ranzo is so lovely, I'm uwued every time he speaks or even makes an appearance. Ikuro is no saint, but I empathize with his pain and his life experiences so I came to like him although I wish he stopped abusing my baby Ranzo already, and apologized and made up to him.
What I like of this manga is that it explores issues that make me uncomfortable but that instill in me new thoughts and make me happy that I still have morals. I don't know if I'm making sense at this point, it's 2 a.m where I live and English isn't my first language.
Well, rant's over. ( ̄へ ̄)

Listed just major events to simplify it.
1. The caretaker attacks the wife in a mask, though she's thankfully saved.
2. Butler has the other caretaker rape the MC.
3. The disabled brother saves his brother from fire in the house, runs away carrying him. The butler kinda has a moment of realization and just lets it happen as the fire forms a barrier between them. The butler is last seen stuck in the room as its engulfed in flames as the MC screams out for him while reluctantly being carried away by his half brother.
So my take away from all this is that, either the MC became suicidal towards the end, setting that damn room on fire and accepting the twisted love the butler had for him (they have sex as the room is partly on fire). But was saved by his brother in the end. Ironically the disabled brother saved him from the very barred room he was confined to all those years.
Either the butler realized he was wrong in the end (or that it was just futile to keep the siblings apart) and let them leave, or he couldn't because of the fire. But idk, he's either dead now or badly burned at the very least.
Note: The MC doesn'

Some spoilers for Chapters 18-20, this is a lot to take in and again it's not fully detailed. If you want specifics, wait for the translations:
-Norihiko manipulates Kenichi (Ranzo's caretaker) into thinking that Sachiko was only trying to get close to Ranzo because of Ranzo being the true heir.
-Ikuro tries to attend a business meeting but can't focus because of his traumatic experience with Honda.
-Iida tries to meet Ikuro but ends up meeting Norihiko.
-During the night, a masked Kenichi ends up trying to attack Sachiko, but thankfully the servants saw the commotion.
-Ikuro finds out through the servants that it was likely Kenichi that tried to attack her, so he follows Kenichi to the barn.
-He sees Kenichi and Norihiko talking...and then Norihiko notices and drags Ikuro out.
-Ikuro tries to call out Norihiko's lies about Sachiko's intentions (Ikuro wasn't initially aware that Sachiko was helping Ranzo) and defends her, saying she isn't the type of woman to do such things.
-Norihiko throws Ikuro down and convinces Kenichi to rape Ikuro by noting how he looks like Ranzo and that because he isn't Ranzo, his body wants to get violated.
-Kenichi of course ends up raping Ikuro and then regrets it.
-The servants (including Kenichi) all get dismissed because of business reasons.
-Ikuro wants to divorce Sachiko. Sachiko is shocked and thinks it's all part of Norihiko's manipulations. He even brings up the fact he found out she befriended his brother.
-Kenichi attempts to run away with Ranzo.
-Ikuro pours lamp oil and tries to burn the house down. Norihiko is there and tl;dr they have Stockholm Syndrome sex.
-Ranzo ends up sees the fire, and pulls away from Kenichi. He ends up going back in and saving Ikuro, leaving Norihiko behind.
-Iida heads to the village to try talking to Ikuro again. Ranzo notices that Iida recognizes his brother asks for help.
I did some other brief replies about the stuff that happens in the later chapters. I'll try to type up a wall of text about those another time. (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
Opinions:
-Norihiko is a fucking horrible and manipulative person. I really, really hope he has a shitty death (since a fire couldn't take him down).
-It's going to take a lot and a very long time for Kenichi to even redeem himself. He's pretty much trash despite the regrets he may have (but apparently the author pities him)
-Ikuro and Ranzo seriously have a shitty upbringing. I really pity both brothers, and it's interesting to note how both of them are pretty much polar opposites.
-I kinda like how Iida will play a major role later and wasn't just some character that was shown briefly and forgotten about. The mangaka is very good about foreshadowing honestly.
-Sachiko is a saint. Make Saint Sachiko a reality please. We stan Sachiko here.

I think part of the reason is from the mom, pressuring ikuro causing his jealousy to burst while unconsciously wanting to be on good terms with ranzo. On the other hand, because he saw ranzo and the dad together he was jealous because his dad paid no attention to him.
Ranzo is smart, he is unable to live on his own or talk but he understands what’s going on. I mean, for fucks sake he scratched the “caretaker’s” hand because it reminded him of his dad. Obviously he has ptsd.
Now that asshole is doing all of things to ikuro, and we’re seeing MORE AND MORE of ranzo. I am GUESSING they are going to run away together. Or maybe something bad will happen to those two dudes. Or at least I hope.

And I read long those spoiler and many says that there's going rape scene which the culprit was the caretaker and the butler, also our brave girl (The Wife) she almost got kill but thankfully she's saved!
I was so mad and wrathful by it.
Shall I dropped it? I can't.

OHMYGOD I loved the last words- brought me to tears. But I am still infuriated with Jonathan not running straight to Kister, I don't think I've ever been so sympathetic towards any character as him and he deserved to have somebody waiting there at the gates and after the play. Goddamit I really don't like Jonathan, first not having a single care about his brother dying and now not taking proper care of Kister outta prison, love him already dammit he deserves all the love in this world!
