I get what you're saying, I really do. I love a problematic pathetic men (demon) as much as one can but he did, in fact, commit literal genocide and kidnapping and attempted to assault Deacon. These are things he's done. He hasn't repent any of it either.

I do hope the author does actually expand on his character more to be better (or worse) but like right now he's a plot device that isn't really devicing (imo).

And I know the wizard isn't too much better but this is about the Demon King.

:S I'm not saying he did nothing wrong! I simply want him to get some redemption and maybe love. It doesn't even need to be from Deacon, I just feel like he could become a better person if he experienced some kindness in this life. He's not even made of pure evil anymore y'know... I'm not excusing his actions!!!! And the people he hurt don't need to forgive him, ever.

I just think the demon king is a bit more complicated than just a bad guy. I mean the demon king isn't really a person, wasn't born, and wasn't brought into the world naturally. It said in a previous chapter that he was born of humanity's negative emotions. Then in the recent chapter they brought up a good point that this new demon king is an entirely different being. Yes he has his previous memories, but the previous demon king died. The reborn one is a different creature with entirely different motivations. But you're right his character is pretty one-dimensional right now but that's kind of what this whole story has been character wise... lol. I do hope the author explores more about what the demon king is, and how this rebirth or reincarnation of him is different than the original demon king.

As for the assault... yeah the author just seems overly fond of having half the characters introduce in the story assault Deacon and take advantage of his naivety. This story is very shallow and yet acts like it wants to be much deeper. I'm confused by what the author actually wants, haha
