I like the story bt I still don't know how to feel about kan.
I felt the same at first. I saw ppl write that he can't be excused, other says that he must be forgiven..Oneslty, i think neither of the two is the right one. I think Kan need to be understood. There were circumstances that lead him to such a sick behavior, and like himsels said, knowing that doesn't mean he should be forgiven. He himself doesn't want forgivness, he want to remembere his wrong doing to yumi, he know he did wrong, but what can he do? just repent, like he is doing. At least that's what i think ^^
agree! beating, burning and don't forget the sex that was almost rape(it's not rape 'couse yumi accepted it). He should have talked to him but he didn't and he kust couldn't stop himself anymore. I really think that understanding his circumastances is the keypoint. Kan loved yumi, really really loved him but was overwelmed by all the things that were happening to him and so he lost himself. He loved yumi but at the same time he began to hate him in some way. At least, he found the strength to put an end to the relationship 'couse he knew that things would only get worse and that was probably half love and affection for yumi and half disperation and fear for his own action and mental health. We can see how he regret what he has done, how he torment himself and we can see when he is with Shuuna that the old Kan is still there. like i said before, i don't think he's behavior can be excused, what he did was totally wrong and really cruel but i can understand what has taken him to that point and then i think that Kan is still human..we make wrong decision all the time but at least he is repenting and i relly lovedthat he said that he won't talk to yumi 'couse he would say "it's ok" and then it would be easy for him..it show how much he reflected on his action(still i think they should talk a little XD). I like him very much as a character, honestly. i like the way he don't go make some justification to his action. he practically said "i was a bastard" no more, no less. it's really rare in bl â•®( ̄▽ ̄)â•
And you're absolutely right... For me it's like I can understand him to some extent but I don't know why I can't forgive him. I know he loved him every time he was abused by his superior he recalled yumi's name but when it came to actual person he just became total devil, he loved him but leave treasuring him he doesn't even treated him as human he just used him as tool an outlet to vent his anger and frustration. That's why I can't forgive him yeah he is repenting and all but still he did that he was responsible. Bt yeah he was a complex character his emotional turmoil throughout the story dipicts that atleast he doesn't justified his behaviour so there was good him in too.
